upndownshop 0 #1 October 8, 2007 After four years of living in Florida, its time to head back to Texas, loading up the Uhaul tomorrow and heading out. I must say Florida was good to me. In the last four years I have: Traveled thru 48 states (need Alaska and Hawaii) and visited over 60 dropzones. Jumped at 54 of them in 28 states. Have 34 different aircraft logged Not sure I remember all the boogies Visited many tourist attractions across the country, and driven over a million miles in my lifetime(finally hit my first deer this August). The best thing about all of this? YOU! All the people I met across the map. I cannot say how blessed I feel to have met all of you. I enjoyed every minute of it. Answering all the questions regarding Sun Path's products, setting up the booth and jumping with everyone. It has been an honor. While I will be doing work for Sun Path here and there, its time to retire as a Mfr rep. The last three years were probably my favorite. I was able to stay on the road for an average of 6 months each year, just traveling around in an RV. Two advantages of this were not being in Florida during the summer and missing the Hurricanes! No, youre not getting rid of me that easy, I will be opening up the "skydiviing" department (primarily T shirts) for Pony Printing. Some of you met Adam at SkyFest this year, and we have decided put together a program for event T's, Tandem's, and fun shirts for skydivers. Should be a lot of fun. So maybe we will see the Up N Down Shop open up.SkyFest is still a big part of my life so you can expect it to continue and grow each year! With all this traveling, and being in the sport all my life, it put me in a position to witness more fatalities than I care to count. Thus loosing many friends and acquaintances. While it never stops hurting at the loss of our piers, I would not trade the opportunity of meeting them for anything. I would rather of known these individuals and hurt from their passing than never to have met them at all. Blue Skies. So this is to all of you out in dz land across the country and the world: Thank you! It has been a real honor. Uggh! Just one more long haul. Be well everyone. Madison 0 #10 October 8, 2007 J,my friend: I send you my very best, as does the rest of Seven Hills, but out of all the stuff you mentioned on your wonderful list of things you've done-- I can't seem to find "landed my first 3-stack!!" Yeah, yeah I know my battery died on the actual landing part, but here's the last shot I got before it quit. It was fun hanging out with you & your positive vibes--don't ever change. Take Care of yourself & Happy belated Birthday! Best of luck to you. CRW Skies, AprilExperience is what you get when you don't get what you want. (there are four first's already listed) I learned with all my traveling to always have a case with me, I pay my beer debts and then some. Can I borrow $20? upndownshop 0 #21 October 8, 2007 Quote God I hate Texas! Are you sure you want to go back? Now be nice, I am trying to look forward to this!! Well, born and raised there, left at 21 and didnt return until the death of my father when I was 32, then to FL (which I really dont care for) and now back at 40. Texas doesnt bother me as much as Dallas does, to yuppy for me. Even though I grew up in Richardson yuppyville, hell in the 80's the cops drove 740 Volvo GL's!!! At least I got my 32 speeding tickets (high school days) from cops with class!! Yeah Right!! Do I need a passport? Think mine is still good, I mean I am a minority now. Last year I drove thru the Burger King where I had my first job (underage at 15) and the damn menu was in Spanish!! Dont get me wrong, I speak it and my best friend growing up was from Columbia, but dammit, its America!! So I went to El Chico's for lunch instead!!
