Very few times in my life have I been speechless, but the Belmont town council has left me gobsmaked
What next will they introduce, Maybe they'll ban you from having sex in your own home,

I know smoking is bad for you but to loose your apartment if you light up is going too far.

Ever notice that these ordinances always affect apartments, etc. - the places where those who are not particularly wealthy tend to be?

here's Belmont's vision statement:

I'm all for making a town a social an community centered place to live, safe an clean streets where children can play outside with no worries,
But when they start dictating what you can and can't do inside your own home, is going a bit too far.



For those who haven't heard Belmont town council have decided to make it illegal as of the 10/9/2007 to smoke in your own home
unless it is a detached house.
