Basjkall 0 #1 June 6, 2006 Some pics of my selfmade BASE rig, created with less drag and more speed in mind... Jumped it twice, feels great and opens very well, smooth and fast. Any thoughts? Take care!
packing_jarrett 0 #2 June 7, 2006 why did you make it so long? how come instead of making a larger container you didn't just put a smaller canopy into a regular container? What canopy is in it? DUDE!!! that thing looks awesome! edit: spellingNa' Cho' Cheese
PhreeZone 20 #3 June 7, 2006 For a BASE rig you don't want a tiny little 135 canopy in it. That looks to be a purpose built wingsuit rig that is designed for low drag on some cliff jumps. The detali isn't in the picture, but is the lower portion just hanging there or is it attached also to the wingsuit? Is there a stiffener there to keep that from bending up in flight at all?Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
packing_jarrett 0 #4 June 7, 2006 I understand you don't need a sporty canopy on a BASE jump but for instance something relative to a Raven 150 will pack into a regular BASE container pretty flat. if the person isn't too big (fat) not saying that anyone here is, I think a base canopy thats 150 "could" be fine in some cases. But I don't know what I'm talking about at all so I'm going to shut upNa' Cho' Cheese

It is "BASE" not swooping. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
Basjkall 0 #6 June 7, 2006 The container is pretty solid when closed yes.. Not attached to the suit..

darkwing 5 #8 June 7, 2006 Designing things invokes the "law of unintended consequences." So beware. One concern I have is the long tail on the container is a snag point for a bridle. -- Jeff My Skydiving History

PhreeZone 20 #10 June 7, 2006 230 is little. The simple way to figure BASE canopy size is take your body weight and add 100.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
