VISO

Recommended Posts

Does anybody have ANY idea when Larsen & Brusgaard will be releasing the VISO??? The website says early 2006, but when i last checked my watch we where already past the early bit of 2006 and are at best in the middle of 2006.

It keeps moving... I'm afraid I just gave up waiting and bought a Neptune.

Sorry L&B but I can't buy it if it isn't on the shelf! [:/]

This thread absolutely cracks me up. Just over 3 years ago there was a whole series of threads almost identical to this one, except they were "well screw alti-2 for delaying the neptune, i bought a protrack."

Do a search by date for "neptune" and start at the last pages and work your way back. It's pretty funny. From initial announcement at the PIA symposium to "...has it been 8 weeks yet???" to "any news on the neptune?" to "i finally got my neptune and it was worth the wait!"

As I said 3 years ago about the neptune: "I'm sure they want to ship it as much as you want to receive it."

History repeats itself...

They just got done tweaking some of the software on the VISO's. The changes from the previous unit is that it now turns off after 14 hours of non skydiving use, and the display is clearer, without any flicker.

It'll be worth the wait! I did 6 jumps on the one I'm test jumping for L&B this past weekend and it performed flawlessly.

Cheers!

That's exactly how I'm wearing my Beta model of the VISO. The attached pics are using an older version of the wrist strap...the production version will be quite different.

Nice pic, did you chop, or get the twists out? Looks like a gonner to me:S

BTW L&B told the gear shop at my dz (Skydive Weston) VISO sometime in september. Something to do with waiting for the lcd displays from supplier....

Nope...didn't chop it. It only had a few twists and was fairly manageable. I've had much worse twists during a demo jump! It made for great video as I deployed the highest and was wearing smoke. So on my video, you see the corkscrew trail of smoke as I'm passing the other jumpers. :o:S

Got all the line twists out by 1600', and just enough altitude to land dead center on landing area.:D.

That being said, I have chopped it due to line twists after a less than pretty deployment flying my Bird-Man Suit.B|

Gotta plug the VISO though...because as you can see, it definitely let's you know precisely and clearly what altitude you're at while your body is seeing earth/sky/earth/sky.

Cheers!

Yeah...all my Whuffo friends thought it was all part of the show, as there where planes circling around us also trailing smoke (Veteran's Day Demo into Vietnam Memorial). ;)

The other jumpers were just laughing at me cuz they thought they were gonna see a cut-away. [:/]

Cheers!
