ccsayre 0 #5 June 5, 2006 I talked to the folks at Square 1 last week. They said L & B pushed off the Viso again due to programming issues. 2 more months.... Luck is Preparation meeting Opportunity
za_skydiver 0 #6 June 5, 2006 I will probably only start to get canopy coaching in a couple of months time. So Ill try and wait for it, but otherwise ill have to get a Neptune. I really like L&B products though. Some dream of flying, i live the dream...
damion75 0 #7 June 6, 2006 It keeps moving... I'm afraid I just gave up waiting and bought a Neptune. Sorry L&B but I can't buy it if it isn't on the shelf! *************** Not one shred of evidence supports the theory that life is serious - look at the platypus. pilotdave 0 #8 June 6, 2006 This thread absolutely cracks me up. Just over 3 years ago there was a whole series of threads almost identical to this one, except they were "well screw alti-2 for delaying the neptune, i bought a protrack." Do a search by date for "neptune" and start at the last pages and work your way back. It's pretty funny. From initial announcement at the PIA symposium to "...has it been 8 weeks yet???" to "any news on the neptune?" to "i finally got my neptune and it was worth the wait!" As I said 3 years ago about the neptune: "I'm sure they want to ship it as much as you want to receive it." History repeats itself... Dave
madsstenfatt 0 #9 June 7, 2006 When I talked with Brusgaard, he actually sounded surprised that it hadn't reached the market yet, so I think it's pretty trustworthy information by now...
JGarcia 0 #10 June 16, 2006 They just got done tweaking some of the software on the VISO's. The changes from the previous unit is that it now turns off after 14 hours of non skydiving use, and the display is clearer, without any flicker. It'll be worth the wait! I did 6 jumps on the one I'm test jumping for L&B this past weekend and it performed flawlessly. Cheers! --JairoLow Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam! JGarcia 0 #12 June 16, 2006 From my last conversation with Mads, it seems like we're very close to shipping. However, I never asked him what exact date that they will begin shipping. --JairoLow Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam! porterhouse 0 #16 August 14, 2006 Does anyone know if they will have the velcro wrist mount capability like the Neptune? (AKA, Will you be able to mount it on the underside of the wrist with just a velcro strap?)
Stumpy 284 #17 August 14, 2006 i saw one of the people who had a beta test model wearing it like that so i would assume yes.Never try to eat more than you can lift
JGarcia 0 #18 August 15, 2006 That's exactly how I'm wearing my Beta model of the VISO. The attached pics are using an older version of the wrist strap...the production version will be quite different. --JairoLow Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam! porterhouse 0 #19 August 15, 2006 The line twist's suck!!!!...but that's a GREAT shot of the VISIO!!! Maybe they could use it in one of thier advertisments?...."A crystal clear display...even under the a spinning main"

Looks like a gonner to me BTW L&B told the gear shop at my dz (Skydive Weston) VISO sometime in september. JGarcia 0 #21 August 15, 2006 Nope...didn't chop it. It only had a few twists and was fairly manageable. I've had much worse twists during a demo jump! It made for great video as I deployed the highest and was wearing smoke. So on my video, you see the corkscrew trail of smoke as I'm passing the other jumpers. Got all the line twists out by 1600', and just enough altitude to land dead center on landing area.. That being said, I have chopped it due to line twists after a less than pretty deployment flying my Bird-Man Suit. Gotta plug the VISO though...because as you can see, it definitely let's you know precisely and clearly what altitude you're at while your body is seeing earth/sky/earth/sky. za_skydiver 0 #22 August 15, 2006 bet it looked good from the ground on that demo! Some dream of flying, i live the dream...
JGarcia 0 #23 August 15, 2006 Yeah...all my Whuffo friends thought it was all part of the show, as there where planes circling around us also trailing smoke (Veteran's Day Demo into Vietnam Memorial). The other jumpers were just laughing at me cuz they thought they were gonna see a cut-away. Cheers! --JairoLow Profile, snag free helmet mount for your Sony X3000 action cam!
