Apple Butter

It is damn tastey. I made a batch from freshly harvested apples with my crock pot some suger some clove and some cinnamom yummy.

Why do they call it apple butter though?

Because you use it on toast and bisquits much the same way? That's what I've always thought. When I was a small child, i wouldn't try it because I thought that apples and butter would suck together

Its called apple butter, because it has the consistency of butter if you get it right. It is a family tradition in my family to make apple butter. I make dozens of quarts each year for Christmas. This year, my kids can help

LOVE applebutter, and the best part is you can make a lot and can it. Home made is much better then store bought. I use a bit of vinager though in addition to the spices.

I have a bottle of store bought in my 'fridge right now. Toast half of a cinnamon raisin bagel and cover it in apple butter. YUMMY!!
