The_Don 0 #1 October 26, 2007 I jumped the first time at the Dublin Boogie March 2004. I got hooked then & there. I found a world of people that I didn't know existed. Everyone I met would help you to get what you needed. I never felt that before. I, and my wife have been jumping all most every weekend since then. Now.. Sadly. I am exposed to the real world of skydiving. Skydivers are humans & some don't like each other. Thus, they go to different Dropzones. I miss that feeling very much.I am NOT being loud. I'm being enthusiastic!

popsjumper 2 #3 October 26, 2007 On the other hand..there's something to be said for getting out and seeing the world instead of only playing in your own backyard. Even friends have spats now and again. Sometimes a change of scenery does wonders for the soul. If you ever feel the need, you have a place to come where you will be welcomed...both of you.My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. micduran 0 #4 October 26, 2007 It is sad when this happens, but it happens often. Life changes, people change, times change. I know your alternative is not convenient but sometimes a little inconvenience can change your whole perspective on things.Be patient with the faults of others; they have to be patient with yours. jtval 0 #6 October 26, 2007 Don, did you ever think it's just you?Nobody like guys named Don where I come from. maybe you need to move to a different area. Find a place where Chucks or Williams are not accepted.Actually, I know what you mean. I used to like everyone I "met" in this sport. Then, I got to "know" a few of them. Life is Life and I will still wake up with an erection. And they can never take that away from me...I HOPE. My photos My Videos
The_Don 0 #7 October 26, 2007 I guess I worded my first post wrong. I just miss the feeling of the skydiver family/tightknit/society/watchout for eachother stuff. My bad...I am NOT being loud. I'm being enthusiastic!
stratostar 5 #8 October 26, 2007 It's still out Don just have to know where to look or sometimes people you have never met open their dz home to you even when they can't be there. So don't take for granted your REAL friends in the sport and enjoy what you have got, yes you meet dickheads and con artist who try to rip off folks, but for the most part, what you talk about is still out there.you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
jtval 0 #9 October 26, 2007 NO. You worded it correctly. I am just giving you shit. I know the community feel you're talking about and I agree. I like it but the more people you get to know the more you can compare them to the rest and decide if like them as much as the first person. Eventually someone has to irk you. It's just the way people are. In GENERAl though, Skydievers are awesome. My photos My Videos

Utopia is impossible, but it's still much better than outside our circle. Sure, there are skydivers I don't particularly like, but I like a whole lot more of them than I do whuffos. How often have you had whuffos who were complete strangers to you offer up their house to you while travelling (even before they met you)? I've had several skydivers do that, and made the same offer myself to several, but never had or received such hospitality from a whuffo. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" JohnMitchell 16 #14 October 26, 2007 Pretty well summed up, Dave. Our skydiving world is built on mutual respect and a lot of trust. A few take advantage of that. They are pretty quickly found out. Still, as much as I know some wonderful whuffos, jumpers are my favorite people in this world. Maybe it's because Vskydiver is a jumper.
