VanillaSkyGirl 6 #1 July 6, 2006 Speaking of the 80s and 90s, since I found this photo of myself last week, I'll be the first to humiliate myself by posting an 80s picture of myself. Flashback to 1989, when I had 80s hair, and my idol was Robert Smith from The Cure. (I adored The Cure from the very early 80s on.) Yes, my black eyeliner was thick (good lord!), and my hair was BIG. Ok, your turn, everyone else. Please share your 80s and 90s pictures, especially your 80s pics because those are the best (funniest)!

VanillaSkyGirl 6 #3 July 6, 2006 Ha! No photo shoot...my mom took this picture of me in her room. I actually walked around like that every day back then. I definitely had waaaay too much make-up on in my effort to look "older".

It shows the poofiness that was my permed hair very well. This was my second of four appearances on that powerhouse Sunday morning television show called "It's Academic" that was on (is still on?) WRC, the NBC affiliate in Washington, DC. It pitted local high schools against each other, competing for fame, glory, and scholarship money. I think this show contributed a whopping $300 towards my college fund. Trivia time ... the woman standing in the back (no, not the one with the Giant nametag on - Giant was one of the show's sponsors), who was our team's Faculty Advisor (and also my AP English teacher) is Dave Grohl's mom (yes, that Dave Grohl, of Nirvana and the Foo Fighters). Edited because I have been informed that not only is It's Academic still on, the same guy (Mac McGarry) is still hosting it, and Giant still sponsors it. Icon134 0 #21 July 6, 2006 I wasn't "cool" in the 80 or 90's although I do remember a phase where wearing a fedora was the popular thing to do among my circle of friends... I was always sort of an outcast... I don't think I have any pictures though... Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...

sickandtwisted 0 #23 July 6, 2006 Not a chance. If you think that you spent a lot of time working on the big hair. Try riding a motorcycle in the 80's. I had to plan on arriving a couple of hours early to fix the hair. And don't get me started on the effects of football helmets on the hair. Thank God the USMC made me cut it.Skymama stalker #69!!!! NWFlyer 2 #24 July 6, 2006 Okay, one more... my senior portrait for high school. I spent an awful lot of time on that blue eyeliner. And probably more time getting my bangs in the perfect "claw."
