Zep 0 #1 October 29, 2007 Rant Yesterday my Logitech Trackman marble FX died. I've had it for years an it was the most comfortable ergonomic trackball I've ever used. Lunchbreak today I went to replace it an to my horror it's been discontinued, tonight a search on fleabay found me another, So for a few days I've got to suffer using one of those STUPID mouse things which makes the pointer go everywhere except where I want it to go. When these companies design a great product why the hell can't they leave it alone, end rant Gone fishing

ryoder 1,590 #3 October 29, 2007 I used one of those for years. I currently use a Trackman Wheel with my laptop, and a Kensington Expert "Mouse" with my workstation. (Why the hell does Kensington call a trackball a "mouse"???). The computer mouse is one of the dumbest things ever designed. Why the hell does anyone want to push a stupid object all over the desktop instead of using a stationary pointing device. And trackballs have the advantage that with a flick of the finger you can let the balls momentum shoot it across the screen and then touch it to stop it where you want MUCH faster than you can push a mouse across the desk. I've long suspected the mouse was the result of some bonehead holding the blueprints upside down when engineering sent them to manufacturing."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. TheBachelor 5 #7 October 29, 2007 Quote When these companies design a great product why the hell can't they leave it alone, I'm sure it's all about sales. If they're not selling enough of them, they'll probably be dropped. I don't think you can blame them for that. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years... AggieDave 6 #8 October 29, 2007 Ah, I remember that model. I had a trackball on my Apple IIGs, but since then I have preferred a "standard" mouse with side buttons, scroll wheel and a *moving fingers like quotes* laser You know the original mouse had no ball, it had two perpendicular wheels.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." I found three on e-bay so I bought one, The great thing about the Marble FX is it has a big ball an four buttons that all fall into place under my big hand. I'm probably being too harsh on Logitech, but when one of your favourite toys breaks it's like loosing a old friend an I really really can't get on with a mouse Gone fishing
