boinky 0 #1 November 1, 2007 I am going to sell these cute little snowflakes, but am having problems deciding on color options. I'd love to have your opinions to help me make the final decision. (Sorry about the odd lighting) You need to pick out options for the white. Also different options for the light blue and the dark blue, as I'll be making all three color snowflakes and need to know what to put on each color! This is [B]NOT a sales pitch for the forum. Just a plea for help on deciding colors. Thank you all for your help! BTW....No, you do NOT get any kickbacks for helping decide on the colors. Just think of it as doing your good deed for the day. That should be payment enough. Nina Are we called "DAWGs" because we stick our noses up people's butts? boinky 0 #2 November 1, 2007 In case it matters, the snowflakes are made of 3/8" foam and will have an irridescent string to hang them with.Nina Are we called "DAWGs" because we stick our noses up people's butts? boinky 0 #8 November 1, 2007 Thanks! I started the business to do embroidery. But it's going to take some time to build up a decent business. In the meantime, I figure I'd boost my sales with some silly little Christmas stuff and the doggie balloons! I live for "cutesy" stuff! boinky 0 #10 November 1, 2007 Thanks! I am in a flea market where there a lot of children. I try to do things that would appeal to them and draw them to my booth. If they want to buy something, they'll undoubtedly have to go get mom/dad, who probably has the money. Hopefully mom/dad will buy bigger stuff! simplyputsi 0 #12 November 1, 2007 boinky, Those are nice no matter what color. I'd leave it up to your customer to decide what colors they like. Where is the orange?????!!!!Do you sell those via internet?? small shop?? You should see about getting those sold in your local hallmark or something. I dunno. boinky 0 #14 November 1, 2007 Quote Those are nice no matter what color. I'd leave it up to your customer to decide what colors they like. Thanks! I make them in advance and take them out there to sell. I doubt I'd get orders on snowflakes at the local flea market. It has been suggested that I take one of each out there and see what is popular. But then it was also recommended that I make the colors in groups of say, 6, as a lot of folks want a set pattern/color. I'd hate to get stuck with a whole bunch of an unwanted color. Quote Where is the orange?????!!!! If I could find orange snowflakes, I'd make some JUST for you!!! Quote Do you sell those via internet?? small shop?? You should see about getting those sold in your local hallmark or something. I dunno. I opened a small booth out at a local flea market. I need to get started somehow and can't afford a brick/mortar building....yet. It's only open on Saturdays and Sundays. I spend the week shopping for supplies and making the projects for the weekend sales. I'd do internet sales, but I'm not sure how to even get started doing that, except on a referral basis. I don't want to pay E-Bay for going through them because the profit margin on something like that isn't very big.Nina Are we called "DAWGs" because we stick our noses up people's butts? gonzalesna 1 #16 November 1, 2007 go with white. Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. Personally, I find a myriad of entertainment value when beating it until it becomes a horse-smoothie.
skymama 37 #17 November 1, 2007 I think you can sell more if you display them in more ways than just as Christmas ornaments. For example, buy a plain wreath and attach them to that. Show them in a big clear bowl with coordinating glass ornaments, suggest that they hang at different lengths from a chandelier, tie them on wrapped gifts....I know you can come up with more ways. boinky 0 #18 November 1, 2007 Wow! Great ideas!!! Can you just hang around and be my interior decorator? I have lots of basic formation ideas and no clue of what to do with them after I make them. I'm sure you could get more ideas with similar items. Also, give a bargain price if they buy in bulk, such as .50 cents each or $5 for a dozen.
