NWFlyer 2 #1 November 12, 2007 Last night a local show, Northwest Backroads, featured the local skydiving and BASE community on its entire show. The show was put together earlier, but they do make a quick acknowledgment of the Caravan accident at the beginning. A lot of the footage is from this summer at Kapowsin and Snohomish, some from the Perrine Bridge. It's got a story about Andy Farrington swooping (that looks like it might be a couple years old because I think it was filmed at the old Kapowsin location), and a nice bit about Jay Humphries (the "other guy" in this incident) and his first jump back after the accident. Heartbreakingly, it also includes Casey Craig's jump with his brother (TI) and sister (Tandem student). It's pretty well done for a whuffo show, though as usual they got a few things wrong, overall it's very positive publicity for the skydiving and BASE communities. I cleaned out the ads and uploaded it to Skydiving Movies (big download but worth it if you have the time). http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=6476 For those of you who are local, it may still be on in reruns in the next day or two. Of course, now that I've gone to the trouble of uploading it, I see that all of the clips are available streaming on the site, though it's missing some of the footage/videos from the transitions (most of that stuff is from Snohomish). http://www.king5.com/sharedcontent/northwest/nwbackroads/stories/NW_BR233basejumpingAL.1ee778498.html"There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. CanuckInUSA 0 #4 November 12, 2007 I kind of wish they would NOT have shown or named the span in NorCal. The whuffo's don't need to know some of this stuff. But overall it was a good show to watch. Yeah, I wondered how the BASE folks would react to that segment. I figured it wouldn't be positive - I'm not even into BASE and I didn't like it; I thought the whole tone of it detracted from the rest of the show."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please.
