That would be better if the people could get tasered at the parties.

I've been tasered and honestly I'd rather get hit was the X26 then get hit with OC any day of the week. Atleast when the burst is over the pain is gone. Even the barbs don't leave any pain, just a little spec of blood.

On the flip side a Taser or any other kind of personal safety device is simply a tool that has to be trained for use. It all starts with your attitude. Personally I would rather see people taking some sort of martial arts training first. Not for the kicking and the punching, but for the mental training. Sheep, Sheepdog or wolf.

Interesting... never quite thought of that breakdown. I've always thought of sheep (nonthinker) or herder (thinker). But that is a bit black and white. I guess I would be a sheepdog... just running around, barking and jumping and then some more barking.

When I go to the SHOT show, it's always amusing to see all the silly guys line up to be tazed by the hot girls in the taser booth. Makes me wonder how they think that falling to the ground and loosing control of bodily functions would impress some lil twit?

The jury's still out on taser-related deaths. Until there's a verdict, I don't know if tasering someone for fun without the proper training is a good idea.

Having had both I understand your statement but I am exactly the opposite. As much as OC sucks after the fact, I can continue to fight and in some instances I have seen guys fight through its effect. The X26 on the other hand, there simply isn't any fighting once you've been shot and you don't have to worry which way the wind is blowing or about getting it on you during/after the fact.

I fully agree, OC can and is fought through with a little bit of motivation. Its even worst if the person has been smoking wet, had purple drank or a whole list of other illegal narcotics. I've seen people fight the taser and make it for a couple of seconds. They were also on a laundry list of narcotics.

I watched a fireman get zapped at a party once.
That was one of the funniest things I ever saw, we thought he was dead. He got stiff as a board and fell head first onto the floor, knocked him out cold.
This guy kept saying how he could take it and it was no big deal, WRONG!

Lighten up dude, this is the bonfire not SC.
Let me give you some context, the guy who got shocked was a fireman who volunteered. This happened during the after-party of a charity full contact (pads and all) police vs. fire football game.
Our firefighter friend kept making comments about getting zapped was no big deal yada, yada, yada.
When he did get it he fell like a sack of potatoes, hit his head was knocked out for a second or two. There were plenty of Paramedic/EMS types there so he was just fine.
That's what made it funny, even the fire guys laughed their asses off after everyone (including the cops) heard the thud and gasped when he hit the deck. Two of cohorts were supposed to catch him but missed.

well, it does sound funny somehow, but just think he'd hit a table with his head. i dont know how funny that is..

besides that, hearing all that shit with people being tazered for no good reason, a comment like that coming from a LEO.. well, it does make it just a tiny bit questionable, but that might be just me.
