It's a way to try to fool spam filters that look for keywords in messages like Viagra, etc. Not sure how they generate the gibberish, but it's basically a bunch of "safe" text. See link. http://www.wired.com/techbiz/it/news/2004/01/61886 Spam filters like http://keir.net/k9.html, which is free and works really well scan the message body for certain words. K9 starts out "dumb", so you train it by taggging spam messages. As you tag messages it compares the words with previous spams and applies a "spaminess" rating to each word and builds a database. Things like Viagra rarely are in good emails (unless you're a urologist), so it easily filters obvious spam. The gibberish is an effort to load a message with benign words to fool the filter. K9 is pretty good at not being fooled.
