I know, my camera's just not the best kind for taking sharp pictures of wildlife where I have to zoom all the way in, without a tripod. These pictures suck, but it's all I got. It was a nice treat to see it, and not have it fly away before I got these pictures from 50 feet away. The last one is a scanned picture from the Peterson Field Guide of Birds of Eastern and Central North America, that best matches what I think I saw. It was starting to get dark and this kind is most active during that time of day. My dad had been hearing this bird off in the woods every time he came to visit. I just happened to see it finally. As much caffiene as I drink everyday, there's no way in hell I could be a good photographer with distant objects and a zoom lense, much less a surgeon. Maybe with the right equipment, manual focus and small shutter exposure, I could get good pictures.
