10,000 steps a day

Recommended Posts

Anyone tried this? I am wearing a pedometer and today I have walked 4600 steps and it's 7pm!

I even went for a short walk and used the bathrooms further from my desk and ran errands. Sometimes desk jobs stink!

Now you should wear a GPS and see how many miles 4600steps in.
how many miles would 10,000steps be.
(yea yea I know more than 2 times more than the first calculation)

I run 1-2 miles a day so that would help but I think 10,000 steps is A LOT.

Yeah, we did at work (out of curiosity). I discovered that yes, in my job, I walk MORE than 10,000 steps a day (on average).

I'm a Conference Coordinator and am CONSTANTLY running from meeting room to meeting room, up and down stairs, to deal with clients.

Guess my job has a built in gym. B|

5280 feet time 5= 26400 ft.
So I guess the avergae step is about 2.5 feet long.
(2.64ft)

Makes sense. I guess its not so hard to do.

You did all that work to do that math and I could have told you that, yes, they say the average step is 2.5 feet long. ;)

I have a dumb stupid good-for-nothing desk job. I walk only when I drink to much water and have to use the restroom.

Take breaks and walk around the block. I do it twice a day. Hmmm, I should get one of those things.

Keep some sneakers under your desk. Ok, I'll get one this weekend. :)

Isn't the standard military step 30"? That would work out to about 4.75 miles.

Shit, I don't know but 2.5 feet is 30"
I still walk like I'm in NY.
Especailly when I am trying to get somewhere.

Those steps are probably like 40". That would bring my average up plus, I run almost every day. Those strides are probably 48+ inches. :D
