Confessions of an addict

Recommended Posts

I'm addicted to soda. Diet coke most of the time... If I'm really lazy and tired it's Dr.Pepper.

How the hell can I kick this addiction?

It's not a caffeine addiction - I'm about 95% sure. IT'S THE BUBBLES. I just can't get away from the stuff. I've given up meat... but I can't give up soda.... how ridiculous is that?

Tea just won't cut it. Anyone got any suggestions?:S

Gradually. Move to seltzer ... at least that way there's a lot less additives... but it's still bubbly!

Try being addicted to benzos and opiates ;)
It took me 6 weeks to detox off of them, don't be such a pussy, just stop drinking them and put up with the headaches for a few days.

Its not the bubbles its the caffeine and the sugar, I have the same thing. I thought the exact same thing.

Right. And I drink beer not because of the alcohol, but because of the bubbles.

Try the fizzy, flavored water. I buy them at Target or Wal-Mart and they do a good job for me at replacing diet sodas. I'm down to 1 a day, if that.

I was on a cruise ship 6 weeks ago. The coffee was sooooo bad that I refused. The soda was 71.50 for the unlimited or 2.50 each. I just drank water/juice and took pain killers the whole cruise. (heavy on the pain killers) Amazingly I am still off the caffeine 6 weeks later. I was at roughly 120 ounces of coffee and 2 or 3 diet Pepsi's a day. Now it water, juice, and yes tequilla.

I think once I was past the actual physical addiction it was just habit to have a coffee or soda around. I know I was productive but I was also quite twitchy.

Seriously people

I *was* serious about the flavored seltzer water. Most do not have artificial sweeteners, and yet they're still fizzy.
