SarahC07 0 #1 November 27, 2007 I'm addicted to soda. Diet coke most of the time... If I'm really lazy and tired it's Dr.Pepper. How the hell can I kick this addiction? It's not a caffeine addiction - I'm about 95% sure. IT'S THE BUBBLES. I just can't get away from the stuff. I've given up meat... but I can't give up soda.... how ridiculous is that? Tea just won't cut it. Anyone got any suggestions?
NWFlyer 2 #2 November 27, 2007 Gradually. Move to seltzer ... at least that way there's a lot less additives... but it's still bubbly!"There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. mccallj 0 #4 November 27, 2007 Try being addicted to benzos and opiates It took me 6 weeks to detox off of them, don't be such a pussy, just stop drinking them and put up with the headaches for a few days. Its not the bubbles its the caffeine and the sugar, I have the same thing. I thought the exact same thing. “Last week I helped my friend stay put. It's a lot easier than helping someone move. I just went over to his house and made sure that he did not start to load his shit into a truck.”

SarahC07 0 #10 November 27, 2007 Seriously people, I've tried drinking coffee and tea in place of soda... and nothing seems to do the trick. There is more caffeine in coffee compared to soda. I can even make it a week and a half without any soda - but I always come crawling back.
skymama 37 #11 November 27, 2007 Try the fizzy, flavored water. I buy them at Target or Wal-Mart and they do a good job for me at replacing diet sodas. I'm down to 1 a day, if that. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
DTOXX 0 #12 November 27, 2007 I was on a cruise ship 6 weeks ago. The coffee was sooooo bad that I refused. The soda was 71.50 for the unlimited or 2.50 each. I just drank water/juice and took pain killers the whole cruise. (heavy on the pain killers) Amazingly I am still off the caffeine 6 weeks later. I was at roughly 120 ounces of coffee and 2 or 3 diet Pepsi's a day. Now it water, juice, and yes tequilla. I think once I was past the actual physical addiction it was just habit to have a coffee or soda around. I know I was productive but I was also quite twitchy. ------- D.T. SarahC07 0 #13 November 27, 2007 Oh did I mention, I'm trying to stay away from artifical sweetners, as well. One of my top three reasons for attempting to cut out soda altogether. Why do I insist on torturing myself so?

NWFlyer 2 #16 November 27, 2007 Quote Seriously people I *was* serious about the flavored seltzer water.
