Will be used for video editing, gaming, and everyday life. Prefer AMD over Intel from my desktop work. Looking for some recs from people. If you got em, lemme hear em. The fact is they make great hardware(iPod) but there PC's have ok specs....also, they make shitty software...there is a reason they run Windows now but Windows PC's will never Run OS X because they do not need to....it sucks....and 96% of the world uses Windows because it is the best....MS makes the best software....Apple also uses MS software and Safari is a copy of Explorer...you can do that same thing and they just changed the name and looks....if you want a top of the line PC go to www.falcon-nw.com or www.voodoopc.com......the best PC on the market but you will pay...... A new machine running Vista is just as fast as a 533mhz Mac runing OSX. And there is oplenty of great software to go with the mac machine.Divot your source for all things Hillbilly. normiss 898 #12 November 28, 2007 You folks are entertaining to say the least. MACS are amazingly "game challenged" which the OP mentioned... All Apple devices are toys...decent ones...but toys. Good for e-mail, surfing, video editing...beyond that requires a PC. Possibly one of the reasons Microsnot invested in Apple. As much of a PITA as they are.... Of all the brands of PC laptops I've seen over the past 25 years...IBM seems to be the best all around tool...but damn are they expensive. Dell seems to have the best value going these days, Toshiba have always been pretty decent too. It seems to come down to who has what on sale, what software packages are included, options...etc. Always get the most memory, biggest hdd, and the most video memory along with the fastest processor..it will all be outdated in about 18 months. I would avoid Vista if possible...I've been testing it for months now and I'm not sold on it for many reasons. It also reminds me of ME, 95, and WWG 3.11....
