Icon134 0 #1 November 27, 2007 OK... this is basically a rant... but I really just wanted to vent to a bunch of people that probably really don't care... So about a year ago I bought a new widescreen display and 6 months after buying it I noticed vertical "lines" of light and darkness... see the attached photos... of the new display (that has the problem) versus one of my other displays (that is about 4 years old...) so two weeks ago I broke down and finally got around to contacting the manufacturer to find that it is still within warranty for repair... unfortunately that meant that I had to pay for the monitor to be shipped to the manufacturer despite the fact that they couldn't tell me for certain what was wrong or if it could even be fixed without having the display in hand (so they could perform diagnostics) so they have it and according to the customer service guy I've been emailing they are working on it... but alas I don't have it... and assuming they can in fact fix the problem the overall cost of the display just increased by $20... Icon134 0 #10 November 28, 2007 ok... this is entirely unrelated to the divergence this thread has taken... but I find myself continuously wondering when the manufacturer will finish repairing on my display and get it back to me... I would like to think they would send me periodic updates, like its being worked on, they've figured out what's wrong and are fixing it, they are done and here is the tracking information its on it's way back to you better then new... but alas I'm afraid that's too much to expect... I've been contacting them via email periodically to inquire but I'm tempted to call them... which would y'all recommend I do to get the best response...
