Hey, it's not Montana, true, but in a decent year, we can have some pretty good snow. But yeah, I'm not getting anywhere near the slopes for a while... let them build a base and get more stuff open. At least it's looking like it'll be a better season than last year.
mfrese 0 #28 November 4, 2005 I have some friends who live in Port Orchard, and this thread reminds me of what the phrase they used to summarize the weather after they'd been there for a couple years: "Sometimes the fog clears up enough for us to see the rain"! I'd last about three weeks in Seattle before you'd find me hanging from the rafters...I don't know how you can stand it! BigSky 2 #29 November 4, 2005 Ya at least you could go tomorrrow if you wanted to. The problem with this light fluffy stuff is it takes awile to build a base. Guest #31 November 4, 2005 Quote They're going to take away my "real Seattleite" card. I'm considering using an umbrella to walk down the street to lunch in a few minutes. It's fucking POURING out there. Seriously, it never really "rains" here. It drizzles. It showers. It spits. It mists. But this kind of monsoonal 40 days and 40 nights crap is starting to get to me. And it's been blowing and snowing. The freezing level got down to 3000 last night, so there's a couple of feet in them thar passes, and Crystal Mountain opened today. Woo-hoo! Snoqualmie Nordic Center here I come! mh ."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat."

CanuckInUSA 0 #33 November 5, 2005 It's a good thing I'm living on high ground here in suburban Vancouver (north Burnaby) as it's rained for at least the last ten straight days. I miss the sunshine of CO and I haven't been able to jump for two weeks now. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

If I hadn't made it out to Richland last weekend I'd probably be going more nuts right now. The slopes are getting dumped on. Snowboarding soon. dfairleigh11 0 #49 December 4, 2007 Hey, at least the weather was okay for jumping Friday (and is looking good this weekend too)... ...best sunset I've seen in a long time, even though the clouds meant we only got 11k. Cold as hell on the hands, but nothing that a few beers at Fred's didn't fix I never really minded the rain, until I got my license... ...now I kinda hate it - until there's a decent amount of snow on the hills that I don't have to take my rock board and body armor up to go snowboarding! At least this storm is a decent one. Screw the pansy ones that the media overblows. Then again, they overblow everything.
