Lexus uses Toyota parts. So, a highly loaded V6 Camry was the exact same as a Lexus ES350, but $10K cheaper.
(My friend has both)

When this fact was published, Lexus scrambled to tout the differences (The Lexus uses premium gas).

Maybe Lexus doesn't like the competition. If someone is f-ing the customers, the car maker wants it to be them.

Lexus ISToyota, when they 1st appeared on the market, they were advertised as Toyota Lexus. they later Rebranded to have Lexus as a "prestige" car.
The same way Honda has done with Accura, they are both Honda cars and Lexus and Toyota are both Toyota

Absolutely. That is why it cracks me up when people buy a Lexus for the quality and prestige. They wouldn't dream of buying a Toyota.
