pilotdave 0 #1 December 12, 2007 I was going through recent referrers to skydivingmovies.com... sites where people clicked links to get to SDM.com. I noticed something strange... TONS of hits from google searches for "shannon dean base jump video" or similar searches. They are coming from all over the country. Any idea why people are searching for that all of a sudden? There were a lot of those searches right after her death, but not a whole lot since... What'd I miss? I am hoping no video got posted somewhere that shouldn't have... J_Cook 0 #2 December 12, 2007 There was a little snippet of BASE on ESPN today, maybe they mentioned something about her? I didn't watch it, just saw a commercial for it. Think the show was called E:60.
ACMESkydiver 0 #3 December 12, 2007 Bob said that there was going to be a piece done on her. I didn't pay attention to the particulars as we do not subscribe to TV in our house any more so I knew I wouldn't be able to see it anyhoo. I'll bet there may be an internet link to the show later...that's what I would look for. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. ACMESkydiver 0 #5 December 12, 2007 From Bob: QuoteI was coming home from yoga the other night and Out of the blue I received a phone call from ESPN. They Are doing a show about BASE jumping and the focus is On the Perrine Bridge and Tom Aiello's BASE camp, Which Shannon had attended when she first started BASE jumping. They asked me if I would be willing to be interviewed for the show and I agreed. If they were going to talk about Shannon and her accident, I wanted to make sure that it was portrayed correctly. They flew me down to L.A. yesterday and we did an interview on the beach in Santa Monica. It lasted a couple of hours and I think it went pretty well. It didn't seem like they were trying to sensationalize any part of the story, which I really appreciated, and everyone was very nice and sympathetic towards me. After I got home last night, I started to worry That they would edit my conversation and change the Context of some of my responses. I ended up staying up half the night trying to remember everything I had said, looking for potential problems. I think it will be ok, since I focused mainly on love, but you never know and I will probably worry about it until the day it airs. The only other time I had talked to the media about the accident was in a live interview, so I knew they couldn't manipulate my words. This time, I have no idea that is going to air. Like I said before, I don't think this is going to be a sensationalized story, but the last thing I would ever want to do is to present BASE jumping or skydiving in a bad light. They will be using some BASE and skydiving footage of Shannon, as well as some pictures, so it will be exciting to see her in a program that will air across the country. I believe the show is called ESPN:360 and it is a new "newsmagazine" type of show. They produced five episodes this season and this will be the season finale'. It is going to air next Tuesday, December 11th. I am not sure of the times, but I will send out another message when I know.
