Gawain 0 #26 December 15, 2007 There is no charge for any of that if you use online billing. I've dropped paper from just about every bill I can think of. The only thing I still do with is much "manual" work as possible is taxes. With the online billing, you can see as little, or as much detail as you want. They keep records for 12 or 13 months at a time, and they provide information as to which fees may be tax deductible at the end of the year. Out of the big-four cell providers in the US, Verizon is far superior to AT&T, Sprint or T-Mobile. Seriously, their online billing is pretty sharp, and easy to use. As for the Blackberry, I have one from work and I love everything about it except the fact it's on AT&T...their network is garbage. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! riddler 0 #27 December 15, 2007 Quote It's due to the size of a detailed bill. Printing and mailing all those pages costs more. More than what? Six months ago when they didn't charge for it? Or could it just be the marketing people trying to squeeze every nickel and dime out of you? More paper = lame excuse. I put together bills for customers every month. Even when they know exactly what I'm charging ahead of time, even when I've discussed every hour, every piece of software/hardware, whatever, I still put together an itemized bill every month. I wouldn't treat my customers the way that Verizon is treating theirs, and my customers wouldn't expect any less of me. Online bills are great - until you have to show the IRS what you wrote off.Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
BIGUN 1,483 #28 December 15, 2007 QuoteIn truth, I wish they would stop mailing me a bill all together. I pay online, so the billis a waste of paper, and makes more garbage for me to take out. I'm on AT&T Wireless (after they consumed Cingular)... They have a radio button to select paperless billing. I get an email once a month telling me they're ready to bang my credit card with a hyperlink to the account so I can view summary or detailed billing. Just wondering if your service provider has the same option on their website.Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. I had to drop Verizon and go to Sprint in order to get a Moto Razr that had FULLY-FUNCTIONAL bluetooth. Any company that deliberately cripples the products it sells to consumers, in order to force consumers to use up their pre-paid time just to move photos/video/audio files between their phone and their computer can kiss my ass."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. You have a valid point about that. However, I would rather have better coverage. Some of the higher-end phones have open blue-tooth architecture. I did hear one good thing about VZW from a co-worker; He was going to be traveling for about a month, and realized he would be better off on a plan different from the one he was on. He talked to VZW about it, and they temporarily switched him to a different plan for the duration of the trip, then switched him back w/o any start/stop charges."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. grannyinthesky 0 #34 December 16, 2007 I teach them some of the math they need to grow the potatoes, but they have generally figured out the counting part before they get to me. Bolas 5 #35 December 17, 2007 My bank is trying to get me to go to paperless statements. The problem is they aren't really paperless cuz either I have to print them and keep them or if I decide I want a statement from further back then online banking shows I have to pay them for it. If they ever go to full searchable records online or back statements printed without fees, I'll be happy to. But I'm not giving up something for nothing or possibly more expense. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
SuperGirl 0 #36 December 17, 2007 you don't really have to print them. just save them as pdf's and keep them backed up somewhere... then you can print them at a later date, if needed.

They have done the same for me before. Also, once I racked up quadruple my normal minutes when a couple loved ones died within weeks of one another. I paid the bill, but then called and spoke to them about it and they credited it all back to me. So I had about four "free" months of service after that.Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. I can just hear the marketing people when banks starting going online a few years ago ... Well, there are ALL sorts of ways we can make money. For instance, if we limit them to only searching six months back, then when they want a back statement, we can charge them for it. Jeez - it's a DATABASE. Change the frigging sql string so that the date says 2006 instead of 2007. Sometimes I wish I could hack the back-end myself. If there ever is an online bank that allows statement viewing back to the beginning of your online enrollment, I'll sign up!Trapped on the surface of a sphere.
