wakebrd4eva 0 #1 April 24, 2006 Hey guys, just thinkin about getting into the sport and have a few questions. Whats a good rig for a beginner that will be forgiving enough but will allow me to progress without having to buy a new one? All the DZs around tampa figure about 2000 dollars to get an A license, is that reasonable? Anyone have a beginner rig theyre looking to sell? If I buy used, whats a good price for a full setup and how many jumps on a rig / chute till its getting too old and wouldnt be a good purchase? I know renting equipment is an option, is that a good choice or should i get my own gear? Thanks, Chris

hexadecimal 0 #3 April 24, 2006 Rent for a while, talk to your instructors, and you'll end up with a better idea of what you need later on... and probably save yourself some money in the process.

I think you should budget 3 for it, assuming you're driving locally to it and not spending too much on gas. You'll probably do best to rent until at least the completion of the A, then you'll know a bit better how to shop around.

As fas as gear rent gear at the DZ and downsize as your skill improves, so you don't have to buy something with a huge canopy.Divot your source for all things Hillbilly.
