Now that would be nice eh?

But really, why cant i use my DT as an external "hardrive" for my laptop? Would a simple usb cable do it?

Where would it go in the DT?

Maybe Ill just poor a drink:(:)

what, no one knows? are all the "geeks" in bed already......;)

Sometimes it's better when you don't use your outside voice. :P

I thought you meant for a monitor...if you only need the data...use a crossover network cable and set them both for the same network workgroup, then browse network neighborhood for the other machine and it's c: drive.

for the limited individuals like myself,,,,,
crossover newtwork cable not familiar with that...
is that an rj45 or one of those usb cables with the smaller cable end than the standard usb?
if it is just a usb does it matter where i hook it in the DT?

if it matters the DT is not on the internet and I dont need it to be.

I think I follow the workgroup part of your answer..

monitors are cheap relative to the pain and suffering you will have attempting to retrieve any data if (no offense) you are unaware what a cross over is...

go buy a $50 monitor

sorry...got distracted there when the pretty woman came in...;)

a crossover cable looks like a regular RJ45 cable except certain pins "crossover" send and receive pairs in the cable. unless you hook up networks it's unlikely you have one.

cheap monitor! have a flat panel tv? some of them have a computer monitor connection on them also...hook the computer to the tv instead of the monitor...if you have the connection for it anyway

straight thru will only work if you connect to a switch (or hub) between them...

...or if they have gigabit interfaces.
