I'm not wholesale against music that's not all-happy-all-the-time. I just don't want a huge library of unhappy stuff. Seems like the 90s went through a period of time where every female singer felt obligated to moan through her music. I just don't want *everything* to be that way.

Want one what? iPod, or the earphones? I'm still figuring out the Shuffle. I have a larger version with video, but I'm trying to determine if there's a way I can actually PICK what goes on the Shuffle or whether the autofill option is the only way I can do it. Bueller, Bueller????

Yes, you can build play lists and load them into the shuffle. Someone else will have to tell you how, I'm still alearnin'

310s. Very nice. I can't believe how much sound blocking there is! I've never spent money on the earphone part of the equation but these are fabulous.
Playlists for the shuffle--good to know! I might have to break down and go online to try to learn something--! That's asking an awful lot, but I guess it's do-able.
