meridianjumper 0 #1 December 27, 2007 I am going to be in Paris, France towards the end of July or the start of Aug. 2008 for work. I really do not know how crowded it is there during the race. Anyone know what to expect or the dates in which it will start and possibly end this year? I went to the website and it says July 27. Not sure if that is the start date or what. Any help would be nice. Blue Skies, Jeremy

Not quite on a par with the Olympics coming to town for a day, but probably not far off.Do you want to have an ideagasm?
SBS 0 #4 December 27, 2007 Wow, that's awesome! I lived in St Malo in high school. That would be quite a sight going through the town there._____________ I'm not conceited...I'm just realistic about my awesomeness...

kelpdiver 2 #7 December 27, 2007 The advantage of the Paris stage is they do many (8, 10?) laps so you can see them for 30 seconds multiple times. Out on the open road legs, you sit out and drink all day for just that 30 seconds, or in the mountain stages, maybe for 30 seconds of the leaders and 10 minutes overall. Then wait a few more hours to get out. It's not even clear how this year's event will be done - who will be invited is quite undetermined. So may be fewer people watching, but I wouldn't bet on it.
