Andy9o8 2 #26 December 31, 2007 Quote Fox News doesn't deserve to be in HD ...which was my point, but nobody jumped at the bait. Oh, wait - it's Bonfire. Next time I'll work in a reference to boobies.

Icon134 0 #28 December 31, 2007 It is probably a bandwidth problem... DirectTV doesn't provide Local HD channels in my area or at least didn't the last time I checked.Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
kelpdiver 2 #29 January 1, 2008 QuoteThey are in Wisconsin, they broadcast in 720p. Same with ABC since both channels show many sports, they show in 72p. NBC and CBS go out in 1080i which is not that much better...Always go with a "p" if you can, 1080p is the higest but nobody broadcast in that yet and won't for some time. That is only on Blu-ray or HD-DVD movies for now. 1080P is not an ATSC format and won't fit in the 19.2Mbps channels for off the air reception. Directv offers Fox HD from LA and NYC for a few years now, but you could only get it you were not in range of a non O&O Fox affiliate. With the satellites they put up in the past year, they're rolling out a lot of locals in HD now. Call and see what you're eligible for. Unfortunately, if you're able to receive a local station, they usually have to sign a waiver for you to get something else from satellite.
mnealtx 0 #30 January 1, 2008 Quote Quote why the hell isn't fox network in hd? Because the quality of its signal is in direct proportion to that of its message. So that means that it's better than the "Big News" that transmit in HD, then? We're losing all tv in the area of the base that my quarters are in - they're going to a digitized broadcast but the "transient quarters" (which I've been living in for the last year +) don't get the receivers...Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. TrophyHusband 0 #31 January 1, 2008 i typed in my zip on the directtv site and local hd channels weren't available. i called dish (which i have), and it isn't available in hd. the guy said local channels aren't broadcast in my area in hd, which is wrong. i have an over the air hd antenna and pick up several local channels in hd, just not fox. other people do pick up fox hd over the air. the dish guy could not give me an answer as to why i can't get it in hd, and with my weak google skills i haven't been able to find an answer either.
