Do you want to take on the pi challenge?

Recommended Posts

I want to memorize 100 digits of pi before pi day! (March 14th). It's a holiday I have celebrated everyday since Mu Alpha Theta Math club in high school. I'm up to 47 so far... who wants to start memorizing it with me?!

I agree. It would be fun, but I would settle for being able to convince 100 of my students that pi is not 3.14B| I'd probably give it a try anyway, but I'm teaching Calc II this quarter for the first tiem since grad school, so I think I'll have my hands (and head) full. Good luck!

I'll trade you some pi for the periodic table, which I memorized in high school.

Ooh, I loved calc II! What a fun class to teach! Good luck with everything, I'll let you know how my pi comes!

Integration has nothing to do with mixology.
Differentials have nothing to do with gears.

That's as far as I got.

A nice size pi is about 8-10 inches in diameter...cherry will do nicely.

I did memorize to 100 places one bored evening while I was in college...

I've always had kind of a nack for numbers... Though because I don't practice regularly I don't really remember it anymore...

A likely story.:P I have lots of students who claim they really understand the material but can't actually get the answers right on the tests.
