GQ_jumper 4 #1 December 30, 2007 All you UFC fans will appreciate this......my dog(Kimora) couldn't figure out while the hell I kept jumping up off the couch screaming her name tonight. GSP almost lands a Kimora on Matt Hughs and transitions to a straight arm bar, I have never seen such perfect transitioning, I honestly thought GSP was bout to spend a few minutes on his back when he mised the Kimora, 90% of all other grapplers would have, but at the same time, most other grapplers haven't spent 3 months in a training camp for the olympic wrestling team. GSP proves why, despite the fact that he doesn't "officially" hold the welterweight title, he is still the top rated welterweight in the world, unquestionably. matt hughes, is on his way to retirement at the tail end of a very successful career. He was simplyoutclassed. Chuck/Wandy on the other hand, Chuck landed more knockout shots against Wandy than he ever has in any of his previous fights and couldn't finish him. I was right about 1 of the 2 predictions of this fight. 1 Chuck will land a solid overhand that will drop Wandy but Wandy will get back up. 2 Wandy will get pissed and finish it. Wandy couldn't be stopped, case and point, he is unstoppable, but Chuck won on points fair and square. Chuck went big to show he is still a force, HE GOT A FUCKING TAKE DOWN!! Chuck doesn't do take downs, he made a big statement that he is still in the game. And Wanderlei, I dare someone to trash him, he may not have won, but he lost to a top rated opponent, that's not a "loss", that's an experience that Wandy will put in his back pocket and learn from. All in all it was a great fight, both fighters looked amazing, and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. In the end, Chuck could barely talk straight, he even said he couldn't believe how many shots Silva took and stayed on his feet, I think we are looking at one of the best rematchs in the next year or two. and on that note, I'm going to finish off the bottle of Cpt. I'm working on......continue to revel in pain from my surgery the other day and then promise my dog I'm not mad at her and then go pass out somewhere here at my parents place nite everyoneHistory does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. MooOOooOoo
 jtval 0 #7 January 2, 2008 I TOTALLY LOVE that GSP won with an arm bar. Matt Hughes and Ken Shamrock have two things in common. They USED to be great fighters. They both had showed themselves to be egomaniacal dickheads.I love that GSP did not take the bullshit interim belt. Whether luck or not Serra is the champ, for now. Had GSP taken the interim belt it would have shown that he didn't respect the very thing that he's worked so hard to get. I thought it was crap when UFC created the interim belt. Maybe it was a "Hughes" thing. Maybe it was in hughes contract to get some sort of recognition. Myab eit was Dana whites idea. Eiither way, is was a shitty thing to do to anyone who wholds the real title. Chuck/Wandy- WOW. Yes, chuck did take down Wandy 2ce, but you gotta admit he did nothing with it. anyone else in that wieght class would have capitalized on it. Guillard is a dbag, too. I remember he as a dickhead in a few on air interviews and he reminded me during the ones for this fight too. Matt Hughes was gracious in defeat. He showed some class. I didn't see it the first time I watched. I turned off the show after GSP's speech. I was surprised Hughes actually said GSP is the better fighter. My photos My Videos
 GQ_jumper 4 #9 January 2, 2008 Chuck may have gotten 2 take downs but like you said, he didn't do anything with them, he looked confused and scared down there. After the first round he realized he wasn't going to knock out Wandy so he started playing the points game, takedowns=points. Not to mention Wandy is perfectly capable of being effective from his back(BJJ black belt). GSP's win was total domination though, Hughes is on his way out and Serra won't be far behind him History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Serra may have been lucky but I still want to see a good fight. My photos My Videos
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
