We were just commenting that if they diehards from Streakers DZ were here instead of Zhills and Sebastion, they would be jumping right now, cuz it really is beautiful, but DEEP. But what the heck they're not here so *BEER*! I'm going to jump into Lake Tahoe nekkid in Feb. Does that count? Personally, I think Nekkid jumps should count double. Just do me a favor and make sure that Streaker gets a pic, ok? The other thing there is to do here in the great tundra is to take Nekkid pics of each other. It's been a good day.. You'll have to talk to Deedy about this. She's talked me into it. Be yourself! MooOOooOoo

grannyinthesky 0 #30 January 2, 2008 Quote It's 29º out, 15º with the wind chill. My apartment leaks heat. This sucks. We didn't even get that warm here yesterday, but I jumped anyway. My face got so cold I didn't even realize my riser sorta smacked me across the cheek until my instructor asked me about where it had cut my cheek. You must of done mighty fine for here you are posting~whore in training!!So how was it? That was your first sub 40deg jump? Did ya like it? Did you not feel the cold at exit? I absolutely love jumping in the cold weather... CONGRATS on a another successful jump! With conditions even... WooHoo YIPPEE!!
grannyinthesky 0 #32 January 2, 2008 Every jump has been in freezing weather, except that first tandem in October. I'm really looking forward to warmer weather. It's fine in the plane on the way up, but when they pop that door open......DAMN....IT"S COLD.....Jump before last was the first one where the ground was snow covered. It was beautiful, but it sure made it more challenging for a beginner to find the dz. This time was better. i seem to be developed a better sense of where i am in the air now. I like jumping more everytime I jump. I have pretty decent stability in freefall, and I'm finally getting a little better at landing where I'm supposed to and not face planting. If I had flared a little bit later, I probably could have stood up the landing."safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! grannyinthesky 0 #34 January 2, 2008 Actually, spring, summer and fall should be great, unless summer gets too hot. We should be in the 60's by sometime in March and the 80's and 90's by July. I just didn't have sense enough to wait until then to start jumping. I did that first tandem and that was all she wrote. I just couldn't wait!!!"safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
BillyVance 35 #35 January 2, 2008 It's going down to 20 degrees tonight here, 16 degrees tomorrow night. That's cold, for Alabama! iluvtofly 0 #36 January 2, 2008 Let's see right now it's 20 with a windchill of 10. We've gotten about 4 inches of snow since Tuesday morning. And we're under a winter storm warning until Thursday. Who else wants to go sled riding and make snow angels.

Lots of fun, especially when your house is on the foot of the mountain overlooking the city and there's a 200 foot drop in elevation down the steep street to the valley! And you have to make a dogleg turn too! Lots of fun! That tree next to the road just past the dogleg turn still shows the scar from when I crashed into it and bent one corner of my sled up and back. I did invest in Under Armor and it does a good job of keeping the body warm. I wore it doing a 5k run on Thanksgiving and by about half-way through I was shedding layers. wildfan75 1 #41 January 2, 2008 Central Wisconsin has been quite fridged. After throwing up and pissin' out my asshole (sorry for the image) on New Year's Eve night for what I thought was drinking too much even though I hadn't drank that much, I woke up on New Year's day and did the Polar Plunge (where they cut out a hole in the ice on top of a lake and you jump in). The temp on the ground was approx. 5F with a real feel temp of -7F. Came back home, showered, felt great and then got hit with more flu symptoms. I watched everyone skydive while I was dying on the couch with a fever and severe body aches. I hate the flu!!!
grannyinthesky 0 #42 January 2, 2008 Oh, brrrrrrrrrr. That makes it seem a lot warmer here. Quote After throwing up and pissin' out my asshole (sorry for the image) on New Year's Eve night That is a pretty vivid image, but it gets the point across well. Sounds like you're feelin' pretty yucky. Get better fast. The flu is the pits. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! BillyVance 35 #43 January 2, 2008 High temp today is going to be 33 here, then down to 16 tonight. Been using my Holmes stand-alone water-filled radiator in my big master suite. grannyinthesky 0 #44 January 2, 2008 THat sounds warmer than my drafty old house. It's a 100+ year old Victorian with a little gas furnace. l had thought about putting in central heating and air, but then I did a tandem skydive.
