Where are you in the birth order

Recommended Posts

First born- perfectionist, reliable, conscientious, list maker, well organized, hard driving, natural leader, critical, serious, scholarly, logical, dosen't like surpries, love computers.

Sheesh...yeah that's me. -All but the organization. I need things to be organized (Autistic trait coming out in me), but I just can't figure out how to make it happen. :$

One of the hardest things I've had to overcome in being married to a sanguine middle-child is the fact that he loves to give me surprises. He knows that I hate surprises, but he has an absolute need to give them to me anyways. :P He admits that it's more for his own happiness than mine when he surprises me with a trip or jewelry or something, but I'm so gracious that I put up with it. :)B|

errr...ummm....can't vote. :S

I am the oldest child of my mom's, but the middle child of my dad's.

I grew up not knowing my father and that side of the family until last year.

However, I have characteristics of both 1st and middle child.

Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.

I'm the middle child, and the only girl. Thinking maybe I didn't follow those rules either. Not seeing myself like a middle chile ought to be.

i am the second born of 5 kids, which my parents had in '52 '53 '54 '56 & '57.....:o

Boy, Boy ( me ), Boy, Boy, and finally a Girl ( our dear Sister!!!B| )

the oldest and youngest characteristics fit pretty close, and I and my 2 younger brothers, all tend to exhibit the "middle child" traits.....

I started jumping when i was 19,,, and each of them,,,, as well as my Mom, thought it was pretty cool... Dad was rather less excited about the idea, but after a while he came around,,, even allowed me to make 2 back yard demos, during 4th of July Picnics..once in 1981 and then again in 1996. It was a big hit !!!:)

not sure how it applies to jumping though... My youngest bro. made a static line jump in 1979 or so, my sister took all the training for a static line jump ,, back in the early 80's but got weathered out...[:/] and never returned, our older brother made a tandem jump in 2001, and the absolute middle child, ( Louie)
has NO intentions of ever " going jumping" ...

#6 of 7... not in the poll. (And the first to go to college and the only not to serve in the military.) And the only skydiver, although my brother did a tandem a four years ago and my mom the year before last.

I am the third of 4. My youngest sister is 7 years my junior and my other siblings are within three years. I dont believe where you are born makes you who you are. Obviously your parents become smarter about being a parent and thier financial situation plays a big role. BUT, you are responsible for who you become. My siblings and me are so different and lead very different lives. They went to the local high school and i attended a very competitive very advanced high school that if you applied to just like a college. Then it was just like being in college.
Most skydivers that are very good that i have met are arrogant and cocky, and thats ok with me. If you are going to be good at anything you have to believe you can and that there is no one better than you. As you get older you figure out how to temper that with common sense, compassion, and understanding, sometimes. In the bussiness world, especially in this country right now, you better be ready to make tough, quick, and sometimes very difficult decisions that affect more than just your life.
So Skydiving brings all those things together and thats just one of the reasons i love it so much.
It also takes intestinal fortitude to jump out of a plane. Skydivers come from all walks of life but most are free spirits and live life the way they want to with few hang ups. At the DZ's i have been to there ia always mutual respect for jumpers even when there is a ton of ribbing and jokes.
Being a skydiver is not something i go around advertising because the whuffos just dont get it and i dont need to explain it.
When i told my mom i was doing it after i finished my AFF she said, I always knew you would do something like that sooner or later. She is coming to the DZ this summer to watch.
So i just broke up with this woman who wasn't even my girlfriend!

She wants to but her doctor advises against it. She has had two heart attacks and has high blood pressure. She had a pace maker installed this past summer. The DZ is going to let her sit in the seat next to the pilot, it turns around so she can at least watch us leave the plane.

I think it all depends on her. My mother's doctor advised against it to but she did it anyway. She has had two heart attacks a stroke and has a pace maker and defibulator. She did two tandems and loved them.

back on topic..........i am a middle child but the youngest is only an hour younger then me. My older brother is four years older then we are but i fit the traits of the first born better.

I'm a middle, the second of four children, and, no, I'm not like "middle" in that chart. Far from it. I have more traits from "first born" and "baby" than from middle.

I'm a belly flyer and a conservative canopy pilot.

But I really do believe that people are more complex than that list of traits, and there are many factors other than number of older/younger siblings that decides how one turns out.

I don't believe in horoscopes either, for that matter.

Just MHO.
Relax, you can die if you mess up, but it will probably not be by bullet.

I'm a BIG, TOUGH BIGWAY FORMATION SKYDIVER! What are you?
