PLFXpert 0 #1 January 5, 2008 Thank goodness the ocean warmed the air in our neighborhood just enough we didn't freeze. But, for three days in a row we were threatened with it and covered a few of our more finicky outdoor plants with sheets & towels. I did a load of laundry today including these used cover-up towels & sheets I'd just gathered up from around the house. After the wash cycle was complete, I started transferring the clean, wet laundry to the dryer and in one now-wadded-up towel a beautiful, bright green lizard fell out. The tears in my eyes were instantaneous. I reached to pick him up and to my surprise he moved away. The poor thing was trying to get away moving in circles, though. I finally captured him and placed him outside under a bush. I hope he'll be OK. I feel so awful! So, while I realize it sounds silly , please don't forget to check your outside sheets & towels for little fellows before washing them. Thank you.Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. Jewels 0 #3 January 5, 2008 Aww, poor little guy! He might be sudsy for a while, but it sounds like he's okay. Good luck, little greenie!TPM Sister #
jtval 0 #4 January 5, 2008 Yea,um, that lizard is now a lizardcicle if it was close to freezing outside. You could have let him go in your attic/basement and he would have eaten any bugs that may have gotten inside in an attempt to stay warm.My photos My Videos

PLFXpert 0 #6 January 6, 2008 Yea, um...if it were still close to freezing I wouldn't be washing the cover-up sheets. It's not like the plants care if they're dirty. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

And here all this time I've been trying to kill the devils with a hoe. (that's hoe, with an 'e,' in case you were starting to get worked up...lol)-- A conservative is just a liberal who's been mugged. PLFXpert 0 #8 January 6, 2008 Shpanks! At least someone cares (unlike mnealtx .) Seriously, I feel so terrible. I don't even know how he survived. It was a full load and I didn't even use the organic-OK-to-swallow detergent. He's a trooper. I shall call him "Lucky Lenny". Although it should be noted I call all the bright green lizards around our house "Lenny". Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
mnealtx 0 #9 January 6, 2008 Hey, at least I apologized in advance!! I had this mental pic of the poor little guy trying to walk, and wobbling around like a drunken sailor! Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
PLFXpert 0 #10 January 6, 2008 Pussy. Little green snakey is not going to hurt you. Pick it up and place it in your annoying neighbor's yard. It's a win-win. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
PLFXpert 0 #11 January 6, 2008 Quote I had this mental pic of the poor little guy trying to walk, and wobbling around like a drunken sailor! Oh my gosh, that's exactly what he was doing! It'd be funny if I knew he later turned out to be OK. OK, I admit it's already a little funny. But, I still feel really awful and can't believe I didn't think to inspect the sheets. Whenever I repot plants (my Christmas cacti) this time of year I always find slumbering lizards in the pot--sometimes five or six of them in one pot! I should have known better.Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
