I can find other ways to make $8000 if it came to dire circumstances.

And I'd help you out with that - . . . Just like divot said - One dollar at atime.:ph34r:

No. It's that simple. In all fairness, I did think of (or tried to) "technicalities" - if you will, but it still doesn't feel right. I'm just that kind of person...can't steal and/or profit off someone elses mistakes...no matter how broke I get.

In all honesty I'm not going to say no. I can't think of a situation that I would but there has to be one. I figure it's like taking someone an ass whuppin'-some people just need it. If I did it would be a vindictive act, not a crime for gain but again, I can't think of how someone would piss me off that badly.

Depends who's money it was.

Yep. If it was some dumb ass drug dealer who left a wad of cash on top of his car and drove off, leaving it on the street, hell yeah I'll take it, after making sure he's really gone. :P

I would too - but I wouldn't keep it . .

It would end up at an orphanage or a battered woman's shelter.

Bullshit!! You would give the money right back to him!!:P:D:D

Steal $8000? Sure, but it depends mostly on who I would have to steal it from. I wouldn't do that from most people. I'm a very honest person, but if it was say I dunno the government, hell yea.

I hate to break it to you but stealing from the government is stealing from you, me, and everybody else. :S

I have been in that situation with close to that amount.. Several Thousand Cash.

Out of town on business and waiting in the Lobby my Hotel for a Cab. One small couch in the lobby and older guy was sitting there. After a few minutes he gets up to meet meet someone and they head to elevator. A Little while later I sat on the couch still waiting on that cab and find a LARGE wad of cash in a money clip right where the guy had been sitting. All $100`s.

My first thought was how the hell do I get this back to the guy. I asked at the desk if they knew who the guy that had been sitting there was. They did but would not tell me his room. So I had them call up to his room and have him come down.
Asked him if he lost something. He said he had been tearing his room apart looking for his money clip when the phone rang. He thanked me and offered me $100. Told him to keep it, My cab was waiting.

Never did find out why he was carrying so much cash.:S

No - I'm the person that drives 15 miles back to a gas station after realizing they gave back too much change...

I'm with you on this. I returned 15 cents to a grocery store clerk one time. She argued and argued with me about taking it back. I finally left it on the counter and walked out. I couldn't have slept if I took it, on the other hand, I got to thinking that maybe she didn't want to open the cash register drawer (afraid that I would rob her, or afraid that her mistake would show up)
