skybeergodd 0 #26 January 13, 2008 Thats why I said 911Cell Center Dispatcher...what you experienced is very common...there are designated dispatch centers that receive the cell phone 911 calls and they will then connect you with the local 911 dispatcher. Most likely if you call 911 from a cell phone you will NOT get the dispatch center for your local emergency services, they will have to transfer your call. For example...in the St.Louis City and County there are 9 dispatch centers, only 1 of them receives cell phone 911 calls. so unless you live in west St.Louis County, your call will have to be transferred to your appropriate dispatch center. AggieDave 6 #27 January 13, 2008 If EMS transports parents and there are kids with no relative available to watch them then CPS (Child Protective Services) are called to respond. EMS hands the kids over to PD and PD stands by until CPS can respond.
