Vectracide 0 #2 April 8, 2006 The only way I would ever buy another Neptune is if they fixed the bugs that haunt every one I have ever had. Even the ones they send back to me have issues. And yes, I have had them compeletly replaced before as well. They eat batteries like a crack whore with a box of Ritz to boot. Unless these issues are fixed....its like a shine on a turd. Other than that, when it works, its great! ------------------------------ Controlled and Deliberate.....
RMURRAY 1 #3 April 8, 2006 QuoteI want one. I want it bad! I just bought a regular Neptune. This Ruggedized version must be brand new. I hope this doesn't mean the regular one is too fragile. I might end up using mine in my helmet only - where it is protected. bought it mainly for the under canopy alarms as a swooping aid... rm

slotperfect 7 #6 April 8, 2006 The ruggedized Neptune was designed with the military customer in mind. Obviously it may have other potential applications as well.Arrive Safely John

Or I can send you a spare Neptune armor I have if you PM me your address. Ruggedized does not imply the regular Neptune is fragile -- heck I've serviced a Neptune that went through a 2-hour washing machine cycle and it worked fine except that the alarms sounded wobbly -- and it's currently only available for the military. I want one for the looks, not the sturdiness. It's just plain cool! D'awr!

parachutist 2 #12 April 10, 2006 QuoteThis Ruggedized version must be brand new. I hope this doesn't mean the regular one is too fragile. I've had my standard Neptune over 2 years and I've abused it quite a bit, but it's still working well. I always wear it on my hand and I've bumped it into many items on planes. It doesn't seem to care. =] Chris

Other than that, when it works, its great! I couldn't agree more. I went through four of them before I gave up and sold the replacement I was sent. My pro-track works reliably and doesn't need any "armor" or anything else to keep it from breaking. I loved the Neptune's functions and user friendly operation, but I never had on last more than about 50 jumps. I also must say that Alti IIs customer service was very impressive. Although I had all kinds of problems, I never had a problem getting resolution from the company.Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
