From what I hear, there's really good eye candy for all types of people. I heard the same thing and apparently a really good place for people watching is a few miles down the road. I think I'm gonna go do some looking later this afternoon."safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
RastaRicanAir 0 #27 January 19, 2008 Quote Ooooh, jazz, blues? I like about any music, but jazz is about on the top of the list I did just try my first Mojitos tonight. Pretty good. And one of the few tropical beverages even we men can enjoy without shame. Mine are the best in town, but some others come close. Head south on Collins until you hit Espanola Way between 14th and 15th then take a right across Washington to Tapas Y Tintos. (Tapas is Spanish for: "appetizer with a 45% mark-up.") Great Latin fingerfoods to go with a great selection of liquid treats. Once you've mastered the Mojito, try the Caipirinha ("ky-pee-REEN-yah"). The Brazilian version made with a yummy Brazilian cane liquor. As for jazz (I knew you'd pick my weakest subject.), some nearby places that get good press are: The Van Dyke Cafe and Arturo Sandoval Jazz Club, and if you're into staying up late there's Jazid. Which is small, and has few seats full of overfunded 20-somethings, but good music and drinks. [NOTE: Examine your restaurant checks closely. Lots of places in town tack on an 18% gratuity to EVERYONE. Welcome to Florida's Courtesy Capitol.]......Damn. Forget radio. grannyinthesky 0 #28 January 20, 2008 I couldn't get anyone to go with me to any of the places you suggested We ended up wandering around the Art Deco thing going on in South Beach. I could have spent a fortune there, but restrained myself. Gotta save my money for skydiving stuff. I am going on a tour of the Everglades tomorrow afternoon. Maybe I'll have better luck tomorrow night. Thanks for the idea."safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!!
