kbordson 8 #26 January 19, 2008 Quote I was cruizing a Russian Mail Order Bride website just for the hell of it. OK... looking at that site (yes. I'm WAY bored and the narcotics haven't kicked in yet...) I have a couple of questions would a guy really want a mail order bride in her 30's and 40's? From a fertility standpoint, she's kinda past her prime. She's not really "trainable" at that age (as if any really are). And all that money on the arranged marraige for a more limitied lifespan (unless you do include the time in the nursing home rocking next to each other) why is there a 19year old Russian girl on that list? Did she just learn early that she wants out? Is she lying about her age? What's wrong with the 19yo guys there that she's bailing ship so fast?! (and they don't have pictures of the men.... at least not with the parameters that I had set)

kbordson 8 #28 January 19, 2008 ah... I figured out why they don't have pictures of the guys. The guys on that site are generally the "buyers" so once they select their options, then they can send the picture to that limited audience. As opposed to the women that are "selling" and just trying to attract attention.

Unstable 9 #30 January 19, 2008 I think foreign chics are hot. Sometimes I think a lot of them just have so much more character than the girls I grew up with, and that's hot.=========Shaun ==========

galvar2439 0 #32 January 19, 2008 GEEEZ, no one is selling them. The women outnumber the men there like 5 to 1. Yes there are bad people there to take advantage of the young girls just like heere in the USA. There a many beautiful girls there and thier choices are limited with men, jobs and school. It is truly a palce of the have and have nots. Yes the girls there are more realistic than the women here. I have a young (24) lady who interpets at my classes and her and i have had many conversations about this. She is gorgeuos and she knows she is. But she also knows many others are too. She says the men thier are not very desirable because of drinking, and other bad qualities. ( her words not mine) Think about it, if your a man in that situation you have just become a comodity without even trying. So yes they learn early that thier avenues to a better life are limited. In closing you would not belive how many professional men i have met there looking for a wife from the USA and other countries. These mail order agencies have offices where you can go and look through photo albums and pick someone you want to meet. They arrange it and you meet. These agencies will even rent you a cell phone that works there so they can call you, they have apartments for you stay also. Lets face it, they wouldnt be in bussiness if they were not making money, which means men are going. I work with two engineers who have married this way. They both swear by it. One is married 5 years now and the other 7. If i ever was crazy enought o marry again, thats what i would do, You both go into it knowing what you want, not like all the games you have to play here in the States. Just one mans opinion. So i just broke up with this woman who wasn't even my girlfriend! Hellfish #782, POPS #10664
galvar2439 0 #33 January 19, 2008 There are no guys because they have the pick of the litter there, 5 women to every man. I love having lunch in cafes there and seeing all the gorgeuos girls walk by.So i just broke up with this woman who wasn't even my girlfriend! virgin-burner 1 #39 January 21, 2008 Quote I was cruizing a Russian Mail Order Bride website just for the hell of it. A lot of hot looking Russian Girls, and I would marry a European or Russian Girl in a heart beat if the right one came along, but I would never pay an agency to ship one in for me. I guess I'm too traditional for that.. i mean, i wouldnt, but with her.. i would get over myself. “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S. Thompson "No. Try not. Do... or do not. (and they don't have pictures of the men.... at least not with the parameters that I had set) ) Russian woman. Naturally, he's ecstatic and even she, seems to be completely happy with her mate!?! It should also be noted that none of these guys, are at all wealthy. Yeah....I had to ask. I've posed some of the same questions I see here, to Russian men and women, both here and over there. Why do Russian women seek marriage to foreign men? The primary reason appears to be....Russian men! Even most Russian men will readily admit, that they make terrible husbands. They have a long history (stereotypical as it may be), of being irresponsible, unfaithful and mostly....drunkards. Most Russian men don't participate much in the regular "family life", they leave that all to the women. You'll rarely see a father with his family, at a park or children's activity...just mom and the kids. Many Russian women are still treated like slaves, by their husbands and often, only the wife works. Lifestyle is another reason. In Russia, most people live in "common apartments"...a large apartment, shared by two or more families. Most often, many generations of the same families, will continuously occupy the same apartment. Usually, a family only has one or two rooms....the kitchen and bathroom are shared. Because of the price and limited availability of housing, most young people are destined to live their entire lives in the same apartment with their parents (maybe even grandparents), after marriage. Most young people don't want to repeat the cycle and marrying a Russian man, would almost guarantee it. From what I'm told, Russian males aren't a hot commodity, right now. Granted, there is always a difference between the generations but in general, Russian women are fairly typical too. They want to marry for love, they are highly educated, very home & family-oriented.....they're a lot like June Cleaver (Beaver's mom), really.....slightly old-fashioned. Most seem to prefer older men and are more interested in your "soul", than your looks. I've noticed that most Russian women, for whatever reason(s)....tend to age very gracefully. Many of them, look 20 years younger than they really are....sometimes more! They also take great pride in their appearance and tend to be on the cutting edge of fashion. Most of the better "mail order" sites are legit and screen their girls, before accepting them but there are some scams out there. As far as I know, none of them will "ship" her to you....they arrange the meetings and the rest is up to you, though I'm sure some offer assistance with the immigration paperwork. It's not that difficult, you can easily do it all yourself. Also, by the way and contrary to popular belief.....not everyone is looking for a way to come to the U.S. "T'was ever thus." galvar2439 0 #42 January 22, 2008 Well said, I love the attitudes and family values of Eastern European women. I like shopping in Moscow and Kiev. Both have great clothes for men also. Good for you and your wife. I will be back in Ukraine for 1 week and then off to St.Petersburgh. I look forward to some real coffee and some great food. Maybe i'll look for a wife while i am there:)So i just broke up with this woman who wasn't even my girlfriend! Hellfish #782, POPS #10664
kschilk 0 #43 January 22, 2008 I suppose anything "long distance" has an element of risk but there are plenty of success stories out there. I'm not sure why Russia seems to be associated with the "mail order bride", so exclusively....they're in there from all countries, even the U.S. and some do have both sexes. Most of the scams are pretty obvious, if you're at all familiar with travel and/or immigration related processes and they're most often encountered on the "regular" dating sites, not the foreign bride type sites. St. Pete, during the "White Nights"......that's the place to be, if you're a single guy...and lookin'! Also, awesome place to jump! "T'was ever thus."
