DSE 5 #27 January 24, 2008 QuoteOnly been there a couple times... longest stay was 3 days.. so yes I have been there but.. all that cleanness and beauty are achieved at a fairly steep price Be good.. or else. Bull. Be good, or pay a fine, just like in the USA. Littering is illegal here, but no one pays attention to it. Drop a butt on the street in the US, you might get a harsh look from someone. Do it in Orchard City, you'll get a 250.00 fine. Traffic drugs in the US, you might get a slap on the wrist at worst your first time out. In Singapore, you get the death penalty. However, Singapore is inside the Golden Triangle, which is infamous for it's heroin trade. I'm in agreement with much of the legal system in Singapore. Spray paint grafitti on someone's car or home? That's 6 lashes with the cane. Guess what? You won't find grafitti ANYWHERE in Singapore. No where. You don't find cigarette butts in the streets, either. Not only is it the law, but people there have pride in their homeland, lifestyle, and quality of life. If you're gonna piss on the laws, then piss on one of the most advanced social systems in the world too. You don't find homeless in Singapore; they have special housing for thoe that simply don't want to work. They have foodbanks for those that can't afford to buy from Pantry or other big grocery stores. They have excellent education there, far advanced over ours. Maybe having active discipline works, cuz as far as I can see, it does. Overall, Singapore's average quality of life *far* exceeds that of the USA. Their worst is about the same as our lower middle class. Their best is on par with the low end of our upper crust. And no one is left out of the system. Rookie120 0 #29 January 24, 2008 QuoteThat's questionable. If their Dreamliner doesn't sell readily and people take the 380 instead, they'll certainly wish they were involved. Dreamliner not sell? It has been the best selling entry jet in history! If you want one you will be waitting past 2013 to get it. The A380 is kinda had to have if only a few airports in the US can it.If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

Number one... the two aircraft are completly different market segments. Number two...there have been numerous airlines that have cancelled their Airbus 380 orders in liu of other aircraft.. ie 747 thatt CAN be delivered. Number three. Boeing now has over 800 orders for the 787.. they will be putting the production models on the shop floor as they get the parts from the suppliers to finish Airframe #2 and #3.. that has to be broken in the test racks before the FAA will allow #1 to fly.. which.. by the way is pretty much complete and just sitting there waiting , the FAA guys have been crawling over it for 6 months now. Currently there are orders that will be flowing across the shop floor in the north bay till 2016.
RALFFERS 0 #31 January 25, 2008 It looks like it's broke into compartments, much like a train is - thats pretty freaking cool; I like the idea of everyone getting their own space... Very interesting that the "Beyond First" cabins have a no-sex proviso.
