There is so much more info that you would need to include: Any shortness or breath or trouble breathing? Any fevers or chills? Headaches, facial pain or dental pain? How long has this been going on? Any sick contacts? Any nausea or vomiting? Any allergies (seasonal, cats, medicines) Any other chronic medical problems (especially lung problems) What meds/drugs are you taking now (both legal and otherwise) Are you a smoker? But, since I can't take your vitals over the internet, nor listen to your lungs, nor run labs/x-rays.... I would recommend that if this lasts more than 7-10days, see someone. If you choose not to. The Mucinex D is a combination of guaifenesin (a cough suppressant) with pseudoephedrine HCl (sudefed - decongestant), and the benadryl is an antihistamine (but a rather sedating one). If I were you (and if you are as stubborn as I am about going to the dr), I would keep with the type of meds that you're taking (but I would switch the benadryl for some allegra or claritin, cuz benadryl just knocks me out). I would also add a little tylenol (following the bottles recommendations and assuming that you don't have liver problems). I would push the fluids and SLEEP! If this is a cold/flu, it should resolve in about a week to 10days. If it doesn't, see someone. In the meantime, try not to infect everyone else. Don't cough on your co-workers. Don't go to the dz just to give everyone else this wonderful gift WASH YOUR HANDS! LOTS! So... without really telling you much of anything, I hope it helped. If it is more of a laryngitis thing than it is viral....but watch carefully as things can change..esp if you start running a fever or have other symptoms- had two young folks this week with pneumonia. Take your vitamins, lots of water, wash hands frequently and meds to ease the symptoms.
