Bodyflight.Net 0 #26 January 24, 2008 Quote Yep, pretty much. You don't see trick or treaters much anymore these years at halloween do ya? We had hundreds back in my day. Same correllation... I SO miss the trick or treating.. I tell my daughter the stories since she's never going to get the real experience... who would've thought a normal rite of passage like trick or treating would eventually die off and become a legend so to speak! gonzalesna 0 #30 January 24, 2008 Quote I think it was my senior year in high school. I was 16 at the time and my parents balked at first about leaving me alone overnight, but then I reminded them that the next year I would be living 2 hours away for college. Had a friend back in high school (hard to believe, I know...) her parents had a babysitter for her until she was 17. Funny thing was, her babysitter was cool as hell and would go party with all of us when we went out drinking, that way she could say she was with the babysitter all night. Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. Personally, I find a myriad of entertainment value when beating it until it becomes a horse-smoothie.
faulknerwn 38 #31 January 25, 2008 By the time I was 14 I was babysitting all the neighbors kids. By the time I was 16, I was under constant demand (cuz I had no life) and especially on New Years - I was babysitting other people's kids all night and making $100+ dollars! It was a sweet deal... Unstable 9 #32 January 25, 2008 Clear until I was 13, I had a lot of brothers and sisters in the house. Not that they wouldn't have left me alone, but the opportunity never came up... =========Shaun ==========

Are you serious? In my neighborhood there are thousands of kids. Kids from all over my town come to my neighborhood to trick or treat. popsjumper 2 #35 January 25, 2008 Oh, I guess it was about 9 or 10. I came in from playing around the neighborhood at about midnight and there was nobody there. At least they left a note. "Gone to North Carolina. Back in 1 week." I wrote my own note and had it ready for when they returned. They pulled up in the driveway. I sat out the note and went out the back door. "Gone to California. Back in 17 years."My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. PoppyFunk 0 #38 January 26, 2008 I don't remember my mother *ever* leaving me at home alone at night, not past like 10pm or so anyway. However, as a single parent that works night shift, I started leaving my oldest son at home overnight with his two young siblings when he was 17. They were 7 and 9. My best friend lived two doors down though. Gotta do what ya gotta do to survive."Analyze this!" http://www.myspace.com/poppyfunk
