jtval 0 #2 January 29, 2008 Quoteanybody following this story? midnight ride on runway: Airport crash Judging by the picture and this quote "Three of victims were ejected. Two were partially ejected, FHP offcials said. It is not yet known whether any or all of the victims were wearing seat belts. ' I'd imagine there wasn;t much to indentify. It sucks for 5 family and their friends but wtf were they thinking? My photos My Videos
airtwardo 7 #3 January 29, 2008 Did you watch the video at the end of the article? 80 foot berm launched the car 200 feet until the tree stoped 'em. Bad one for sure. ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~
skymama 37 #4 January 29, 2008 Yeah. I couldn't believe the crumped mess of metal that used to resemble a car. You can bet that Nick heard about it yesterday and got a reminder speech about safe driving. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

I am POSITIVE I did some stucpid shit when I was a kid and didnt think about the consequences until well after the event. SkydiveStMarys 0 #8 January 29, 2008 Damn shame. So young, full life ahead of them. Left behind family members to pick up whatever pieces are left. I can't imagine what their parents must be feeling and going thru. His new BMW, does insurance cover something like this? just curious. Bobbi A miracle is not defined by an event. diablopilot 2 #11 January 29, 2008 Yeah very sad. Also infuriating. Some 18 year old kid decides to "big dick it" and race down a runway. It's unfortunate he takes 4 other young people with him.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. SkydiveStMarys 0 #16 January 29, 2008 Yeah yeah yeah. Like I said damn shame. But what about the car? 2008, 80,000? Damn.... I do truly feel sorry for all involved, but just curious... Bobbi I wondered the same thing. I would imagine there is some insane insurance on an $80,000 car. My ins has a clause that if the car is totaled they will pay off the remainder of the loan. HINCE... Quote Someone didnt train the driver very well! NOT just in "driving".... but in responsibilities of LIFE! There is this fuzzy feeling that I get in my gut when I am about to do something not right.... I learned years ago about the age of 23-24ish.... I call it my holy spirit... Cant tell ya how many times during my student jumping that I walked away from the plane with fully donned gear! I started jumpin when I was 34!! I listen ALL the time... If i aint "feelin it" I am not following through with it.. But at 18-20yoa, most KIDS dont know how to or even know that feeling... This is what I imply about the parenting aspect of it... Kids don't listen as a whole just because... No rhime or reason, thats why they are kidz! It is just a sad sad story, that when one thinks about (like most times) it, it didnt need to happen... Bolas 5 #19 January 29, 2008 Quote Left behind family members to pick up whatever pieces are left. I know I'm probably gonna regret this but... I think the EMT's, police, and fire rescue do that. Still a stupid tragic loss of life. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh. JerryBaumchen 1,468 #20 January 29, 2008 I saw this yesterday on my BMW forum; yup, I drive one. A little trivia: when Ricky Nelson ( of Ozzie & Harriet fame ) turned 16 ( 1956 ) his dad bought him a brand new '56 Porsche. He got about three blocks from the house, with another kid in the car, before he totaled it. Dad bought him another immediately. JerryBaumchen

JohnMitchell 16 #22 January 29, 2008 Super sad story. Boys just want to drive fast. That's why their insurance is so high. The NHRA and SCCA are good, safe outlets for that kind of stuff. Too bad these kids couldn't see their limits. I did a lot of stupid stuff as a kid, but I also did some sanctioned racing. I liked the legal stuff better. My heart goes out to all the parents of those boys.
happythoughts 0 #23 January 29, 2008 This follows the November 2007 crash of Nick Bollea (Hulk Hogans son) in Tampa. Nick has two Dodge Vipers and a 350Z that he races in legitimate events. According to witnesses, he was going around 100mph when he lost control. The kids in this crash live in a very wealthy area. An airstrip runs beside the houses. Most of the residents have a special garage where they park their airplane. It is a case of a lot of money and too much being cool. Unfortunately, for some mistakes, there is no "do over". Yeah, and left a friend in a vegtative type state for the rest of his life. Charges Pending. Seriously who buys a kid a Viper, maybe that should be considered a form of child abuse. Maybe Hulk needs to spend sometime in the slammer with his kid, after all he bought the car for his son. I bet that would send a message, huh!!?? BobbiA miracle is not defined by an event.
