aerodyne or PD reserve

Recommended Posts

which one? I jump an Icon (if that even matter) and looking at buying a new reserve.

Question 2: Is the PD 143 smaller than the smart 150?

Thanks

They are very close, but the Smart 150 will pack up slightly smaller than the PD 143R. I have attached Sun Path's compatibility charts for each reserve type. Short answer:

PD143R is listed at 363 cu. in. and fits in a OJK, J1KS, J1KL

Smart 150 is listed at 346 cu. in. and fits in a OJK, J1KS, J1KL, J2K

During a side-by-side comparison I packed a PD160R and a Smart 150 in the same J3K Odyssey and they both fit nicely.

What is your primary concern when considering a reserve? Only the pack volume? What about loading and speed deployment maximums?

John thanks for the packing info. This is pushing me towards the smart.

Vec: My primary concern in what reserve is better from the experience of people using/have used both. I'm sure the stats on both are the same (at least after my searching) but wanted to hear some FRESH info.

My wingloading is fine on both and not a concern. Thats why I was specific about the size of each and didnt just say PD and Smart.

Do you have any info. on these two reserves other than the concern of my wingloading? (not meant to be rude...you might have REAL info. on these)

thanks again
