It's been in the ow 70s all day here.
I just got back from the YMCA, the pool was still crowded around 7pm. But it has cooled down pretty quick since sunset.
Now it is down to 65-70 degrees.

Bill, DOOD - why are you doing this to me? Have a heart

Oh, I so agree... This is just plain cruel.......

I know how happy thoughts feels. I had to wear a jacket last week. Man it was cold. I think it was 60*.

people would think I was crazy if I went out in just a t-shirt.

(no worries though, I will be moving to colorado soon)

Every morning for the last several days it has been 20 below or colder. Today, HEAT WAVE! We woke up to -9, and it's supposed to get up to EIGHTEEN! People here are crying for more snow. Last weekend was the John Beargrease Dog Sled race, and it was difficult from what the mushers say, because they started in weather that was too warm (30 degrees) then the temps dropped to more than 20 below, with winds bringing it down to 50 to 65 below. I felt sorry for the dogs, having to sleep on the 400 mile trail and all. I didn't feel sorry for the mushers, they had a choice, and by the end of the race, more than half of them chose to drop out.

days like today are EXACTLY why we need a tunnel in chicago. i'd have skipped work and gone to fly indoors!

My thought EXACTLY. Ever since I've got into the sport I've been asking myself why we don't have a tunnel at SDC - I mean it's one of the biggest dz's in the country... I'm sure it's been brought to Rook's attention, more then once, by more then 1 person. Baffles me why he doesn't do it :S

if only I had 4 mil to blow I'd plop 1 in the middle of Hinckley.

So, does everyone get to stay home for a snow day? Can you drive in that? I dunno, I'm just a southern girl.

I'm not sure how hard to laugh at that.
Everything is open, schools and all. Ralffers post is nothing...we have 3' in the yard, 5" new inches in the last hour.
Deep enough to dive off the deck without breaking anything, and then rolling into the hottub to make your skin hurt for a few seconds.
Unless we get more than 24" in 24 hours, rarely does anything shut down.
'Course,...most everyone here has a four-wheel drive, and if you don't own a snowplow or big-ass snowblower, you know someone who does.

Schools are closed; many people have to work, but obviously some have to- it sucks. If I had to drive I could manage, but hope I don't have to of course. From my house, it usually takes a half hour to get to downtown - whereas now it takes 3 hours[b/].

I'm moving to Florida or San Diego as soon as I'm done with school - a year from now. :)
Edited: Forgot to un-bold.

Edited again for the same reason. :$

I drove home in it last night (after killing some time at the gym) and drove in it again this morning. Its not great conditions, but its been much much worse. This morning I just took my time and left about an hour later than I usually do.

A lot of schools are closed and my boss of course played the "kid card" and stayed home. :S We're busy- this would be a perfect "bring your daughter to work day" IMO.
