happythoughts 0 #1 January 31, 2008 When I type the little words, it spell-checks them as I go along. If one is misspelled, it immediately has a red line underneath it. So, why is it that "skydive" has one?

happythoughts 0 #3 January 31, 2008 Try iiiiiit... you know you want to. Hit REPLY... type some stuff... and see if "skydive" has a little red "you misspelled it" line under it. I am always right. I know that is tough to admit. It is so cleansing to face up to it though. "HT is right about everything... I am free from making decisions for my life now. I can merely ask and know." Baksteen 84 #13 February 1, 2008 My spel cheker wants to turn it into "sky dive". It's also not much of a help when grammar is being butchered. I mean, 's or s' or simply s behind a word? That is so confusing.. Usually I just put an s behind the word regardless of context and pretend that the ' key isn't working..."That formation-stuff in freefall is just fun and games but with an open parachute it's starting to sound like, you know, an extreme sport." ~mom

happythoughts 0 #18 February 1, 2008 I already clicked on the "add to dictionary" doober. (I also added "doober" to my personal dictionary. I use it a lot.) I was just laughing at the irony of being on a skydiving website, yet every time that I typed "skydive", it flagged it. I work with a bunch of technical terms and acronyms that get added also. Sorry, "doober" is technical jargon for the thingie that I clicked on. It is hard to use "dude" online because it has so many distinct meanings/uses based on vocal inflection alone. Noun, verb, adjective. The list is endless. agreement - nodding head, "Duuuude" uncertainty - open door, furniture in disarray, leaning head into room, "Dude?" exasperation - pizza boxes and beer bottles on floor, "Dude-uh"

happythoughts 0 #22 February 1, 2008 When I was at ATT, they put in some software to prevent spam. Since it was my job to produce design documents, I would put a reference number in the email title. Example "RS12345 - high level document" They were not going through because the spam filter caught "doCUMent" and rejected it.
