Yeah, I had a custom helmet made and someone took a crap in it when I went out for lunch... I later found it was directly due to the sub 100 rule. Looks like I'll get to wear the stinky thing pretty soon. Too bad I didn't know about the rule before the shit hit.Gravity Waits for No One.
gearless_chris 1 #7 February 4, 2008 Here's my P.O.S. Geo, I've done helmets with the same pattern before also. Paint the whole helmet red first because it won't cover up black. Let that dry overnight then tape off the whole helmet. Draw your pattern on then cut it out. Peel the tape off of the parts you want black, everywhere you leave tape will be red. Paint the whole helmet black and peel off the remaining tape. I also put shadow lines under the tears but they don't show in this picture (you could use silver)."If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. Conundrum 1 #9 February 5, 2008 You actually did that to the Geo on purpose?
gearless_chris 1 #10 February 5, 2008 Yes I did. Lots of spray paint. It was originally metallic green, then I put flames on it (painted flames not real ones). Then it was orange with checkers on the side. Now it's red and silver. I might try something different this year after I get my truck done. It's easy to find in a parking lot, when it was green I knew of 5 others in town that looked just like it. happythoughts 0 #11 February 5, 2008 I was going to do some painting today. I have some metal frames that needed to be repainted. However, it was too hot. Probably in the mid-upper-70s all day. The instructions said, "...for best results, put on 2 coats." Do you have any idea how miserable it would be to put on 2 coats and try to do anything in this heat? skydemon2 0 #12 February 5, 2008 Did it specify a thick coat? Probably not, I usually get away with 2 light windbreakers!Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes clean to the bone! I like to start my day off with a little Ray of Soulshine™!!
