Anyone ever live with a serious musician?

Recommended Posts

Now don't get me wrong, I play a little guitar, but living with a serious serious musician can get a little rough sometimes. I've been non-stop ear fucked by 20 seconds of a spanish song for the last 3 hours. Paper thin walls means there is no escape. :S[:/]B|

I feel your pain. One of my old roommates was always playing his guitar and a few other instruments. Problem was you would be watching a movie out in the living room and he would come out and start playing his fucking guitar on the couch next to you. It would piss me off to no end.
Other problem was he couldn't keep a beat. He would play the same couple of songs all the time>:(
It got even worse when he bought a snare drum and a stack for his guitar. Thank god I don't live with him anymore cause i might be in jail for murder

Could be worst, your roommate might play the Oboe or perhaps the Eb Clarinet...OR your roommate could be learning how to play the bagpipes.

Or what if your roommate was a hard-core professional Jaw-Harp player?

Get some ear plugs and have a drink.:)

Could be worse....my brother use to have band practice in the basement - yep 3 hours of rock n music 3-5 x a week. Then my little brother started playing the drums when he was a teenager...hours of drums..and I do mean hours.:ph34r::ph34r:

I guess since I haven't played my horn in about 3 years my wife doesn't mind. She did like coming to hear me play, she hated it when I was practicing. Even with a practice mute. Although I've really been itching really bad to find a semi-local jazz ensemble and building my chops back up.:)

Streaker played in one band or another for a couple of decades. We got used to making do on 'practice' nights.
The funny thing was, when our kid started a band and everybody came to practice at our house, it only took THREE nights of practice to drive Streaker crazy.
