bigway 4 #1 February 6, 2008 Got the x-rays today and while talking to the vet all the knowledge that I have learnt from many of you here paid off to be very helpful. The leg is way out of place and it looks like the other one is as well but not as bad. Something we will have to worry about later i think. There is also a good chance our other dog will have the same issue. It sounds like we should go for the TPO. we have until she is 1 year old to do this. It is a shame but 6 months ago we could of had a much easier and cheaper thing done to her. $5000 for the TPO or we could go with a THR or an amputation for only $1500 or put down for $200. The $8000 quote is not in play anymore as it has turned out that there is no other injury on top of this problem. he thought her ligaments had been ripped but they have not. I just know that i am going to have to end up getting both legs done on both dogs for $5K a piece. Anyway, the vet was very impressed with everything i knew from learning from you guys and from all the days of reading i have been doing. So thank you all. .Karnage Krew Gear Store . ACMESkydiver 0 #2 February 6, 2008 -Not as bad as it could have been, but still gonna be tough for you, as you mentioned. Sorry to hear that part of it!~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
ladyskydiver 0 #3 February 6, 2008 Glad to hear it's not as bad as you were expecting. Did the vet discuss some physical therapy that maybe could be done to help her other leg so that maybe you can avoid surgery? Have you made a decision as to what you're going to do for the little one?Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. bigway 4 #4 February 6, 2008 The other leg is bad, just not as bad and we will have to go through the same with the other leg soon enough. Just need to find out if her brother is in the same position. We will be doing the TPO i think it is called. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

kbordson 8 #6 February 6, 2008 Good luck to you and your sweet pup. I, unfortunately (by my thinking), know far too many that would look at the financial aspect of the options. $5000 v. $200. That is a bit of money. But, I'm glad that you have the resources and compassion to help the poor beastie. She might not understand the "value" of your sacrifice.... but I'm sure she values your love.

bigway 4 #8 February 6, 2008 $5000 to me means that I can go to a boogie in the states this year or i can get my dog out of pain. Pretty easy decision. I took full responsibility of these dogs when i adopted them. To put them down at the first sign of trouble is not something i am able to do. I do understand not everyone could afford it but i would rather help my dog out than go to the states for a couple of week. I just hope they are not like a lemon car where you have to keep spending money on them to keep them going. Personally though, I could never put down a family pet just because it costs money. if i o not have the money there is always a way to come up with $5,000. It is not really that much in the scheme of things. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
