FlyingJ 0 #1 February 6, 2008 Hi all, Aside from a few posts after learning of lost friends I've pretty much been gone from dz.com for the last few years. I've been in Victoria, TX for about a year now and just curious if any jumpers live down this way. I'm not quite in the position to get back into jumping yet, but I hope for that to happen within the next year. Anyone, give me a shout if you are down this way! jason.Killing threads since 2004. AggieDave 6 #2 February 6, 2008 I'll be headed to Spaceland the 23/24th of this month for a couple days of training. Swing by and say hi!. Beyond that, its the closest I'll get to Victoria under my own will power. Actually, I have a friend that works for the PD there. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
gemini 0 #3 February 6, 2008 Jason, I am from Victoria. Don't get down there much except to see family. My sister-in-law and her husband are jumpers who live in Cimmeron. More important is David Bowman who lives in Corpus Christi and drives to Spaceland at least once a month. You could probably hitch a ride with him since he usually is by himself when he jumps. Take the Houston Highway (59 North) to Wharton, Turn right on 1301 to 442 to 36 to 1462 to take the scenic back way to Spaceland. Hope to see you there once in a while! FlyingJ 0 #4 February 7, 2008 I actually pass by Spaceland fairly freqently as I spend time working up near Texas City once in a while. It's a frustrating pass by when I don't have the money to jump, but I might have to start stopping once in a while.Killing threads since 2004.

Or come by towards the end of hte day; there's a restaurant at the end of the runway that's developing some skydiver business; stay, come there, and hang with folks Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)
