My front street ....

Recommended Posts

Interesting winter to say the least. We haven't had a significant snow fall in weeks. Granted there is about 8 to 10" of packed snow on my front street.

A little "slidy" if you're not careful but not that bad.

It was clear and sunny and dry today (save for the packed snow). I live on a residential street (ie: parking on BOTH sides, room for one car to get through down the middle). Speed limit 20km. Or so they say.

I got home tonight at about 4pm. At about 430pm, I looked out the front window (I park out back, have no reason to go in the front room very often). Two cars, BOTH facing east (my street runs east to west) have had what looks to be a minor collision (from my front window, anyway - no major "car parts" on the street, no major marks in the street).

Or so I thought. Almost 5 hours later, TWO cops cars show up along with TWO tow trucks. Makes me wonder what they were doing to do THAT much damage to cause them to both be towed!

And makes me wonder about the safety of the kids (and pets) on my front street. Along with me.

On nicer days, I park out front. RIGHT where their cars collided. Could have been my Jeep that got hit. Could have been me.

Take it easy out there, folks.

It's not just you that you need to worry about.
