Peej 0 #1 February 7, 2008 Hey guys, Another quick question for an article i'm writing, i have googled my ass off and can't seem to find an exact number, how many cable channels do you have and how many are available to you in total? Can you guys only buy packages of channels, no individual channels? We don't have cable here, we have satellite TV which comes as a bundle of 300 channels, most of which are utter crap. Thanks ahead of time for the answers! Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
wmw999 2,560 #2 February 7, 2008 I think I get 71 channels. Yes, it's as a package. Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. lisamariewillbe 1 #3 February 7, 2008 I have no cable channels, we buy seasons of the shows we like so we can watch them on our time. Last time I had it, I had a few hundred and most were crap, the only channels you generally can buy by the channel are the specialty sports / movie type channels. I dont know if you will find an exact number though since its not standard.Sudsy Fist: i don't think i'd ever say this Sudsy Fist: but you're looking damn sudsydoable in this
Icon134 0 #4 February 7, 2008 The number of channels in the US generally varies from service to serivce. Different Cable companies will have different offerings depending on their "market" although from what I've seen (having lived in about 4 different markets in the past 5 years) there are generally a few "core" channels that are relatively common from company to company. As someone mentioned before for the most part channels are only generally available in groups or packages. The frustrating part of that (IMHO) is that often providers will often offer one or two channels that I would like to watch in conjunction with a number of channels that I could care less about thus requiring that I pay for more then I really want. Although I'm quite certain it's not really cost effective to offer channels individually as there are a lot of channels that would no longer be produceable... (such as MTV which used to be music television but isn't any longer... come to think of it MTV disappearing might not be a bad thing...) ScottLivin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife... kbordson 8 #5 February 7, 2008 I do not have cable. During this past month of "rest," I bought the seasons for the shows that I do not have access too (Torchwood, Dr. Who) and watched them.

rehmwa 2 #15 February 7, 2008 When I was on an antenna, I had about 6 channels I didn't care to watch. With satellite and cable, I can now have 600 channels I don't care to watch. ... dfairleigh11 0 #17 February 7, 2008 Too many, like 250. Not enough in HD! It's true tho, EVERYTHING looks better in HD. Except things that are genuinely ugly. Some of those things should not be allowed in better-than-VHS quality "We'll start the ass kissing with you"
